The Captive Creeper
~Sjin's POV~
I woke up across the room from Sips_, who was still fast asleep and snoring. Careful not to wake him, I picked myself up and tugged on my red checked shirt and trousers. I planned to visit the love of my life today, so I didn't want to turn up in a spacesuit now did I? As I walked towards The Captive Creeper, I stopped to pick some yellow flowers for her. Coincidence, really. Yellow was her favourite colour. I fished around in my pocket, and produced a piece of old brown string. Not exactly velvet ribbon, but the best I could do right now, so I bundled the flowers together and tied the string around them. There was about seven of the sweet-smelling daisies, and they were perfect. Then i heard a noise.
Bing!
It signalled I had received a message on my mobile phone. My phone was a birthday present from Lalna, I guess to show no hard feelings after we had little fight in the bar the previous weekend. But that wasn't important. As the screen illuminated, I saw it was from Sips_. Probably wondering where the hell I am. We are best friends, so I would understand his worry for me, but he's not my dad, jeez! Anyway, I clicked on it with my finger and saw his message;
Sjin,Where the hell are you?! I wake up and look across the room and see your bed empty, so I go check if you're downstairs but you're not, I look out the window and you're not outside either! Where are you? I'm worried sick! -Sips_
I stopped walking as The Captive Creeper came into view, and typed up my reply;
I'm on my way to The Captive Creeper to see Minty, I didn't want to wake you because you get grumpy when you're deprived of even a minute's sleep. So I left without you knowing, I'm sorry. I should of left a note or something on the kitchen table... But I'm safe, don't worry. I brought my mining laser, so I'm well-defended! I'm sorry I left you to worry like I did. -Sjin
I looked up and continued walking. When I reached the doors, I took a deep breath, and stepped inside.
~Minty's POV~
I was cleaning the worktops as Sjin came into view from over the hill, but i pretended not to see him. Then he strode in the doors, and I looked up. He was smiling that gorgeous smile of his. And he wasn't wearing his spacesuit, which was a plus! I walked over to him, and we shared a hug. I felt a blush creep up my cheeks, but I didn't care.
"Hi," I said as the embrace was broken.
"Hello Minty. I brought you some flowers," His voice was like sweet honey, and his eyes glittered as he produced a bunch of around seven beautiful yellow daises.
"They're gorgeous! How did you find them?" I asked, smelling them and setting them in a glass vase on the end of the worktop.
"Oh, I just picked them up on the way here," He said, and he sat down on one of the barstools in front of me. I stepped around the end of the counter and sat down next to him, shortly after getting up again to bring him a drink. He sipped it gently, and then looked up at me.
"Minty, I've wanted to tell you something, for a while now," He began. "Minty, I- I l-love y-you," I din't give him a reply, just pulled him by his shirt collar towards me, and kissed him. He stiffened in surprise, but soon relaxed and pulled me, by my waist, towards him, deepening the kiss. When we pulled apart, I whispered as I leaned into his chest;
"I love you too."
