Love Rhyleigh xoxox

Romeo Smith had always been the responsible one. He had to hold together his family.

He had a sister, a teenage tearaway called Mink.

He had a stepfather, who, as good as he was, hadn't treated Romeo or his sister right. Mink had ended up in juvenile detention because of him.

When Romeo came to Summer Bay, he was looking for a place to escape the past that had haunted him. romeo had been a surfer boy, coming to the small town to enjoy the beaches. he had gone to school, to try and further his education, and he had fallen in love.

And he had, he thought, successfully buried his past.

Until Mink turned up in Summer Bay, looking for her little brother. And he had turned down her offer to be her manager on the surfing circuit- he actually wanted to finish his studies and get an education.

She had wreaked havoc in Summer Bay, with Romeo barely managing to keep up.

And Mink left the Bay, leaving Romeo, once again, to fend for himself.

It was after Mink left that Annie Campbell returned from Japan. The two had flirted constantly, finally admitting their love over dinner. Romeo and Juliet, they were dubbed- and not just in the school play.

But when their mother, Jill, arrived in the Bay, it was the last straw.

He loved his mother, he loved Jill to the end of the earth and back. but she was an alcoholic.

Jill was funny and smart, and after one or two drinks, she was even smarter and funnier.

The first night Romeo knew she was in Summer Bay, Jill had drunk herself into a stupor at the Surf Club, and Marylin and Alf had brought her home. Romeo had, inside, gone ballistic, and had insisted that the adults went to bed while he tended to his mother- he was the responsible one and was used to it.

"Romeo, why don't you head up to bed, darling?" Marylin had asked.

Marylin had become like a mother to him- and he had known her less than four months.

Romeo refused- he stayed up all night with her. And she had smiled in the morning- it reminded her of when Romeo was a little boy, where she would stay up with him.

But a lot had changed since Romeo was a little boy.

And he was yet the one putting their family back together.

He was the exception.

The only exception in the Smith family.
