"Dean, have we ever been on a picnic?"

When you were three, people always remembered stuff you didn't, like "You met Grandpa once," or "We have so been in a truck!"

Dean packed lunch, and led them along the creek to a meadow with jungle-high grass.

"Is this picnic food?"

"Sure."

Sam drank soda and ate crackers while watching butterflies and listening to the grass hum.

Later, they crossed over the creek and back into town.

"Where are we?"

"The market. A block from the apartment."

How could that wonderful green world have been hiding so incredibly close to home?
