In honor of Stephs bday (oct 12th) I wrote a one shot

I own nothing from Janet Evanovich or Chili's
ranted PG13

Today was my birthday and besides my parents and grandma no one else knows and I'm not telling them. I was driving out to the bonds office when my cell phone rang. When I answered it I heard a bunch of noise and then Tanks voice boomed into my ear.

"Stephanie we need your help" he said

"OK what's up" I asked jumping from all the background noise

"Its Ranger" he said and I felt my heart almost stop beating

"Where is he at and what's going on?" I asked

"We are at the Chili's Restaurant in town. We got a fugitive cornered but she said if we touch her she will yell rape and hang us all. Ranger thinks we need a females touch" he told me and I turned my car around and sped to Chili's

Sliding into a parking spot I got out and made sure I had all my toys with me. If I went in and Ranger found out I wasn't carrying something I would be in huge trouble. Running from my car I got to the front door and ran in. AS I got inside I skidded to a stop sweating and heaving looking around.

"Stephanie" I heard and looked over to my side and saw Tank coming towards me

"Where she at and how's Ranger?" I asked closing the gap between Tank and me

"Over here man this is something else. We are so glad you could come and help RangeMan" he said turning and walking away and I followed behind him

Tank led us to the back area of the restaurant and as I got closer I didn't see a mad woman fugitive in some kind of stand off with Ranger and his men. I didn't see anything that warranted what Tank said and I didn't hear any of the noises that I heard when he called me. Looking around all of Rangers men were standing around just smiling at me.

"uhhh Tank what's going on when you called it sounded like the place was being torn apart" I asked him and then I saw Ranger come from the back carrying a huge cake with lit birthday candles on it

"I can help you there Babe" he said coming and standing in front of me

Ranger sat the cake down on a table that had a lot of gifts sitting on them. I looked over because I can't resist birthday cake. I saw some dark purple writing and moved closer to read it.

"Happy Birthday Stephanie"

Looking over I looked up at Ranger with question in my eyes. I asked him how he knew and he gave me this look. "DUH" I said and went back to looking at the cake and saw all the Merry men close in around me and Ranger.

"Blow them out Babe before they melt all the way down" he told me

with tears welling up in my eyes I bent down and blew all the candles out. When they were done all the men clapped. Ranger moved into me and I turned to face him and hugged him letting some tears escape.

"You all did this for me?" I asked sniffing

"Yes Babe, we love you, and we all care deeply for you. Happy Birthday Stephanie" he said holding me too him

we all sat down and began to order our foods and drinks. Once we all ate and just talked the waitress came over and asked me what id like to have for dessert. I looked over the menu and saw this thing called flavor shots so I order one of them. When it came I had 3 plastic shot glasses filled with dessert. I got warm cinnamon bun, key lime pie, and chocolate fudge brownie. I took the small spoon and took the cinnamon bun and dug in. Once it hit my mouth I was wishing all three of my shots where of it. When I licked the cup clean I noticed it was quiet in the restaurant. Looking around I saw all the men shifting and adjusting themselves.

"What?" I asked them all seeing them looking at me

"Babe" Ranger said smirking and I looked down and saw he was trying to hide himself under the table

"Ohhh well Happy Birthday to me" I laughed and grabbed the chocolate shot

"MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM"
