Iris: Dragon Type Extraordinaire

Iris is 14 years old and far from being a novice trainer. After beating the Elite Four of Unova and even challenging its legendaries, her homeland has nothing left for her. On the road to being a Dragon Master, she finds herself in Hoenn. Not only must she fend off Team Magma, Aqua and Rocket, she must uncover the mysteries of the region all while trying to reach the Hoenn League.

"And if I don't?" Iris asked venomously, her almond eyes piercing into the man before her.

"You don't have much of a choice, either you hand it over and live to watch all you've worked for crumble beneath you." The man replied sadistically. "Or we take it from you and trust me...that won't be so pretty."

The girl held the pokeball closer to her chest. She began to sniffle, not because she was in the middle of a burning forest and inhaled enough smoke to knock her unconscious. No, she was biting back tears. All she's done in the past year was about to be stripped away from her and there was nothing she could do. The man before her chuckled, regaining her attention.

"Listen kid, I'm getting tired of this. Now hand it over." He stepped forward causing Iris to step back.

He sighed.

"Persian use false swipes." The pokemon looked up from grooming its fur.

The ruby on its head glared as the surrounding flames glistened off the jem. It bared its fangs as it stalked towards Iris. The Dragon type extraordinaire whimpered in fear. Persian pounced extending its claws before releasing a fury of slashes onto the helpless girl. The attack wasn't strong enough to do much harm but it did manage to tear the sleeves of her shirt and cause her to release the pokeball.

"Ouch!" Iris yelped as she fell back from the attack.

The persian picked up the pokeball in its mouth before elegantly striding towards its master and dropping it off at his feet.

"You forced my hand."

The voice rang through the girl's head like a loudred at a concert. Her vision began to blur due to the mass amount of smoke inhalation. Her body quivered as she let out a series of coughs and began panting. Through her sight impairment she could see the man recalling his persian into its pokeball, stuffing her stolen pokeball in his pocket and climbing up a ladder of a helicopter that seemed to come out of nowhere. As she began to lose consciousness she noticed the flames growing closer. This was the end and then everything went black.

Hi loves, here's the first chapter of Iris: Dragon Type Extraordinaire! This is also the first story I've ever uploaded. It's not as glamorous as I'd hoped, which is why I'm looking for a beta. I know this seems dark themed, but that wasn't the intent. I wanted something a little more realistic. Anyway, next chapter will be much longer...and uploaded tomorrow!
