This story has been revised. I changed some (okay maybe a lot) things in this story after rereading it. Anyway, this is the very first story I've ever written. :D

Confessions

"I've always liked Phineas and tried to get his attention. I've done that for years now and still nothing has happened," Isabella said to herself miserably while combing her hair in front of her mirror. She looked at her reflection for a while and then sighed. Is there anything wrong with me? Isabella thought.

She took a bath and put on her Fireside girls uniform before bidding her mom goodbye and taking off. She arrived at the Fireside Girls clubhouse deep in the woods and knocked normally. The door opened, and she was met by several water balloons attacking her like cannonballs. By the time the other members had realized whom they had thrown the balloons at, Isabella was already dripping wet.

Isabella looked at them incredulously. They all point at Gretchen accusingly. Isabella just sighed.

"Sorry," Gretchen said sheepishly. "My fault"

"It's fine," Isabella replied sluggishly as she let herself inside the little clubhouse. Holly took a towel from one of the cabinets and gave it to her. Isabella smiled at her gratefully.

"What's the matter?" Gretchen asked, eyeing her warily. "You don't sound too well."

Isabella sighed once more. "You do know how I always try to get Phineas' attention, right? Well..." She closed her eyes and got ready for their reactions. "I give up on it."

"WHAT?!" the girls shouted, shocked. Their faces looked pretty much like what Isabella had imagined.

"Y-you see Phineas is always so busy, and I think he will never notice me." She looked at them hopelessly, trying to keep her tears from falling.

"That's not the Isabella we know," Ginger said, shaking her head.

"Yeah! The Isabella we know will never give up," Holly added encouragingly. "Don't worry, Isabella. He'll notice you soon. Just you wait."

Isabella gave them a smile, but she still wasn't that sure.

The Fireside Girls left for Phineas and Ferb's house to see what they were doing. When they arrived, Buford and Baljeet were already there, helping with today's work.

Isabella wasn't in the mood to say her catchphrase, so she just said hello to her four friends. Only Phineas seemed to have noticed that something wasn't right about Isabella.

"Hi Isabella," said Phineas then he stared at her as if he were scrutinizing her. "Are you okay?"

"Yes," she replied, not looking at him. "Can we help?"

Phineas didn't believe she was okay, but he let it go for now. "Of course! Just paint those woods over there. Any color is fine… especially if it's your favourite."

Isabella looked at him in surprise and disbelief. Did she hear him right?

When she looked at him, his cheeks seemed to redden a little bit. "We're building a house."

"Oh, cool," she said. She couldn't deny that she wasn't surprised or disappointed. Phineas and Ferb have built a rollercoaster, a fort, a football stadium and other amazing things in a day. A house seemed to be a little… ordinary.

Isabella started painting the blocks of wood pink since it was her favourite color.

"Why are you smiling?" said Gretchen who stood beside her and started helping her paint.

Isabella's smile became even wider. She didn't know why she felt so happy that she wanted to sing and dance and jump at the same time. Perhaps it was because of Phineas acting a little odd a while ago. I could have sworn he blushed. Isabella giggled at the thought.

"Isabella, I think you were in Phineas land again," Gretchen said, shaking her shoulders. Isabella snapped back to reality and gave her a slightly abashed smile.

"Phineas, we're finished!" Isabella shouted, showing him their work.

"Oh, that's great!" Phineas replied, beaming. "Can you hand those to me?"

"Sure!" Isabella took the woods she and the others worked so hard to paint and handed them to Phineas. "Are they okay?"

"They're perfect… just like you." Phineas said the last part in a low voice, so Isabella wouldn't be able to hear it.

"All done," said Phineas, looking at the enormous house they had just built. It was covered in pink. Pink ribbons, pink roof, pink door, pink windows.

"Why is it all pink?" asked Buford in disgust. "Black is better."

"I think it looks nice," said Baljeet, looking at the house in awe. Buford eyed him incredulously.

Phineas took Isabella's hand and brought her in. They walked through the two front doors, and Isabella gasped in utter admiration.

"This… this is… wonderful!" Isabella cried. The house had everything. A living room with pink couches and a large flat-screen TV, a kitchen and a dining room with golden plates already filled with mouth-watering food, a bathroom with a Jacuzzi and a closet full of clothes that looked so expensive. "I shouldn't have chosen pink, so the others could enjoy it," she said, glancing at Buford.

"Pink is the best colour for this house. It's yours," Phineas replied.

"Really? But why?" Isabella asked, feeling her cheeks go red. Is this really happening? This must be a dream. "This is all too much."

"You see, Isabella. I don't know why but when I see you, my heart races. I get kind of nervous, and I get so speechless. I searched about this on the computer, and –"

"Y-you searched?" she asked. The thought made her giggle.

Phineas smiled nervously. "Yeah, it said it was called 'love', so I supposed that I... er… love you."

"I love you too, Phineas," Isabella replied. She felt like she was the happiest and luckiest girl on Earth.

"Er… sorry it took so long. I mean I had to make sure about my feelings," he said, scratching his ear.

"It's—"

"Can we eat now? I'm starving," said Buford.

Adyson smacked him and said, "You just ruined the moment!"

"That hurt you know," said Buford in anger with a little amazement.

"Isn't it wonderful?" Ginger said then she looked at Baljeet. "Love?"

"Uh-huh," he replied uncertainly.

"Who's hungry?" Gretchen asked. "Raise your hand!"

Buford's hand shot up first which was followed by several others'.

"Let's eat then," Phineas said then he led them to the table, still holding Isabella's hand. He pulled a chair for Isabella which made her blush.

"Thank you," she said.

Isabella thought of everything that happened this day. A while ago she was about to give up on Phineas and then everything changed. It's a good thing she gave him one last chance, or she would have probably regretted everything.
