Ron, the two of us need look no more

We both found what we were looking for

After his first year at Hogwarts, Harry Potter, the Boy who lived looked back with the certainty that it had been even better then he had expected and all of his dreams had come true.

Not only had he gotten away from his horrible relatives, The Dursley's who he had had to live with every since his parents had been killed when he was baby. But, more importantly, he had found something that his aunt and uncle had led him to believe he was not worthy of

He had found a friend

With a friend to call my own

I'll never be alone

All those years he had spent in that small, cramped cupboard under the stairs, he had been oddly jealous of Dudley, his cousin. Although he did not dislike the boy or his friends or family, he was completely alone and he was jealous of anyone who had someone.

Now, somehow these next two months that he would have to spend at the Dursley's - undoubtedly locked in his cupboard - would be a lot more bearable. He had friends and no matter what happened, they would be there for him if he needed them. He would be reunited with them and that thought would keep him going through the next eight weeks.

Physically he would be alone, but he would never be completely alone ever again as long as he had friends like Ron.

And you my friend will see

You've got a friend in me

He knew that Ron sometimes had difficulty that he - the famous Harry Potter - wanted to be friends.

However, for him, the reverse was true he could not believe the redheaded boy with all the brothers he had met on the Hogwarts Express on September 1st wanted to be friends with him. He could not get over the fact that Ron didn't just see him as a problem to be ignored or even worse, a hero to be worshipped

Ron, you're always running here and there

You feel you're not wanted anywhere

If you ever look behind

And don't like what you find

There's something you should know

You've got a place to go

Harry had learnt what it was like to have a friend you could turn to. To know that they would be there for you. He only hoped Ron realised that the same was true for him

I used to say

I and me

Now it's us

Now it's we

From being always alone to having someone to talk to and do things with (even just boring things like homework) had been a big change for Harry to adjust to. He could not believe how much more enjoyable things like that were with two of them doing them (and even better no Dudley!).

I used to say

I and me

Now it's us

Now it's we

True he was best friends with Hermione too and friends with other people as well. But they weren't Ron they weren't his best friend and Hermione, well she was her best friend, but, well she was a girl and there just were some things you couldn't do with a girl.

Ron, most people would turn you away

I don't listen to a word they say

It made him so mad to hear Malfoy and his stupid goons saying that just because he had five brothers, a sister, and little money, Ron was the lowest of the low and not worthy of his friendship. That was not true! In fact, if anyone was not worthy of friendship it was that git with his inability to see past the heritage of people and see them for who they really were

They don't see you as I do

I wish they would try to

I'm sure they'd think again

If they had a friend like Ron

Like Ron
