The only one he ever loved.
"Please, Hold on." Soundwave said, cradling his sparkmate in his arms as she slowly bled out. "I-I can't…" she said, then gasped in pain as her spark chamber expanded again. Soundwave's insides wracked with guilt. It was his fault that his Sparkmate was here, his fault that she had been injured, his fault that their only child was about to be born on a War-torn city. His fault…
"Please Starstrike, just hold on." she didn't answer, but gasped again as the Spark of their child forced its way further out of her spark chamber. Realizing what was about to happen, he pulled the small protoform from a cavity in his chest. Starstrike let out a scream as the spark finaly ejected itself. Soundwave, as carefully as he could, took the spark and placed it into the protoform's chest. It glowed blue for a moment, and became as small silver and blue robot. Soundwave scooped it up into his arms, showing his Sparkmate, who was too weak to hold it. "Mech or Femme?" she asked weakly. "Mech." he replied sadly. She smiled. "Let's call him Hyperjump." she whispered. Soundwave, despite himself, smiled. Then he took a closer look at the young Decepticon. "Hmm, a flier…" he muttered to himself. He placed a hand on Starstrike's cheek. She put her own hand on his and smiled. "Take care of him…" she muttered.
Then, the light in her eyes left. Gone forever…
Soundwave stood, still cradling the young one in his arm. The battle was long over. Walking along the cracked streets, he didn't pay much attention to his surroundings, his thoughts elsewhere. Guilt and hatred were his main emotions at the moment. Guilt at himself for leaving his Carrying Sparkmate into battle, and hatred at that Autobot who had made the fatal shot. Bumblebee. It was always Bumblebee. And, for the first time ever, he felt tired. Tired of conquest, tired of all the lives lost due to Megatron, tired of fighting. an insane thought entered his mind. "No. No, I won't defect. The Autobots would tear me apart before I got close…" But the idea stayed with him…
The Sparkling in his arms cooed and opened his eyes. With a pang, Soundwave saw that his son and inherited his mother's eyes. His idea's of Defection were pushed to the side. it didn't matter at the moment. all that mattered was raising his son. The son Of Soundwave, the Son Of his dead wife. The thoughts of Defection would have to wait until later. He had a son to raise.
And that would have to be enough, for now.
The Reproduction process is mainly T'Reilani's invention. And, yes, T'Reilani, this is a story about Hyperjump's origins. Hope you like it, please review.
