x-Friends-x

She never planned this. She was just a small girl, tutor girl. In her world with her unpopular friends from the rivercourt. She never wanted this to happened but it did.

Haley James walked down the hall of Tree Hill High avoiding the stares students where giving her. She'd been receiving those stairs ever since her first tutor session. Lucas Scott, Haley James's best friend, was well known as the half brother. Never one to be popular. Nathan Scott, on the other hand, was the very popular brother. Neither spoke to each other. Scratch that, they hated each other. But for the sakes of Haley, both where willing to give each other a chance.

It had all started that one morning when Nathan had walked into the tutor center, almost begging her for help. Nathan Scott begging, this was something she had never seen.

"You know what? I'm doing perfectly fine. F is for Fine right?" He'd told her waving his math exam in her face, showing her the big 'F' writing in deep red ink on the front page. Haley had let out a long sight and turned to be face to face with him.

"You know, normaly I'd say no, but I'll look into your file and see if you really need your help. Remember that I hate you and Lucas could never find out about this. Never are we clear? Oh and if I tutor you, you listen to me." She'd stated, their faces inches from each other.

Obviously, Lucas had figured it out. He was pissed at Haley at first, but now. We couldn't say it really mattered. Haley had became good friends with Peyton Sawyer and Brooke Davis. She never thought about the day she could say, she had the perfect friends. People who where there for her whatever her problems. But what had shocked her is that her friendship with Nathan was becoming something she never wanted to lose. There was something about how he reassured her and laughed with her that was different with the friendship she had with others. Her and Lucas was nothing to be compared to.

They where inseparable, but now, they were more. It was different. When her dad had died, Lucas had comforted her, cried with her. Peyton and Brooke had tried to change her mind by doing girls nights and eating ice cream.

Nathan. Many people didn't expect much from him, but it shocked her. He had been there to make her laugh. Just like a friend would. "Friends are like stars. You don't always see them but you know they're always there." She often repeated to him. It had became their line, their quote. Always and Forever.

There used to be this One Tree Hill fanfiction challenge about 100 one shots under 500 words, but that person deleted it before anyone could do it. I had this one written for the first chapter out of 100 –the only one I had actually finished- and I thought I could still post it. Hope you enjoyed it, even though it's short. (:
