A/N: This is a song I wrote on July 21, 2007. Its lyrics are inspired by both the epilogue of Leroux's novel and the flashback in the 2004 film. And I can't show you the music, so meh. These lyrics are not my best, and they're not incredibly cryptic, but I like them anyway. I'd like some reviews; thanks in advance!
Escape From The Gypsy Fair
Words and Music by Ducky in Spandex
They laugh,
Laugh and point their fingers
at the weekly freak-show;
Watch them laugh at you
Faces
Contorted in expressions
of horror and amazement;
Watch them laugh at you
Hide your face!
Aren't you ashamed
of your devilish frame?
Now there's no escape
from your iron cage.
They watch you with cold eyes,
Laugh, and point their fingers
They'll never stop haunting,
Haunting until you're dead.
Come one,
Come all to the gypsy fair;
Meet the Living Corpse,
Behold the Devil's Child!
Erik
Is that really your name?
Where is your mother?
Does she hate you too?
Come with me,
Abandon all these people;
I'll unlock your cage,
Don't look back!
Run as fast as you can!
Sinking into darkness
Let your soul roam free,
Haunt the ones above—
They'll never laugh again.
