First RENT fic. Be kind. Got the idea from the scene when Mark interrupted Life Support by making a ruckus.
DISCLAIMER: Don't own. Wish I did though. I'd cuddle the hell out of Mark.

The first person to notice it was Collins and the only reason why was because he saw that same shade of blue every night in his dreams. He never asked Mark about it, but the second they were alone, Collins grabbed Mark's hand. The anarchist ran his finger over it, gently, and looked up to see Mark turn bright red. "Metallic blue?" Mark nodded and it was never mentioned again.

Mimi was next. Though she wasn't around much anymore for the fact the last time Roger got pissed at her, the things she had left in the loft had found themselves in the middle of the Avenue. This led to the eventual breakup. Thus meaning Mark and Mimi didn't see one another much at all. But when they ran into each other in the stairway, she noticed almost instantly.

She did the same as Collins, grabbing his hand tightly. She stared at the color, tears coming to her eyes, before completely breaking down. She threw herself on Mark, thin body wracking with sobs. Mark didn't understand what she was saying, only catching small words here and there, like: "Miss", "hurt", and "Why?!" Mimi's tears weren't alone after that, a few falling from Mark's blue eyes.

Maureen saw it at the Life Café. She smiled knowingly. "It matches your eyes."

Joanne saw it, shook her head and refused to look at Mark's hands again.

Roger was the last one. He came home from the bartending job he took to the strong sharp smell of nail polish. He closed the loft door behind him as he caught sight of Mark. His face held the shock of a 10 year old, who was just caught with a cookie before dinner. In one hand held a now ruined rag, the other a bottle of almost empty nail polish.

The musician sighed, walked over to the blonde, and pulled the rag out of his thin hands. He gave Mark a look when he noticed Mark's pinky finger. A blush rose to his cheeks. Roger dropped the rag, pulled Mark close to him, and whispered in his ear.

"I miss her too."

Mark held tight as he cried wholeheartedly.
