Byakuya rubbed his tired eyes as he got up from behind the enormous pile of paperwork on the desk. Soul Society had just suffered another vicious battle with the arrancar; they couldn't possibly bolster another war. He knew that all the other Gotei thirteen taichou were still up and slogging away at

their work, whatever they were. Still, Byakuya himself had suffered many unfortunate injuries, much to his regret. His muscles ached in protest as he stood up. Somehow, he wished that his fuku-taichou was here to assist him with the nightmarish amount of work.

He wanted coffee, and he wanted Renji to make it for him. He called Renji to his office, and requested coffee. "Abarai, I need some coffee. Please make some." And the reply he got was, "WHAT?! Oh, coffee. Hai." Byakuya ignored him and continued writing a report, but his mind was on Renji. Thinking about that red- haired, tanned man made his stomach flip, made his heart beat so fast he thought it would kill him. Seeing him with his shirt off once caused him a nosebleed, much to his embarrassment. Yet, Byakuya didn't know what he was suffering from. Hisana made him feel like that when he was with her. Another man couldn't possibly do that- but that was what Byakuya thought.

A sudden knock on the door started him from his thoughts, and he composed himself before saying, "come in." Renji stepped in, a sightly confused look on his handsome features. Byakuya felt his heart stop when Renji walked over slowly, carrying the coffee, his steady hands holding it securely. He offered it to his taichou, and Byakuya felt himself tensing up before taking it shakily. His hand brushed Renji's, and he felt a powerful spark of electricity pass through him.

He felt himself standing up, not knowing what he was doing, and slowly crossed over to where his handsome fuku-taichou stood. He felt his resolve shatter when Renji's sharp red eyes pierced into his own, and he leaned forward slowly, lip trembling visibly, hand shakily reaching for Renji's. As anxious as he was, he didn't want to rush this, but unfortunately, Renji did. The redhead's lips made contact with Byakuya's pale ones, and Byakuya felt lightning rush through his veins as he gently moved his lips against Renji's. A visible blush rested on his cheeks and he clutched at Renji's rough, battle- worn hands.

But then...several shouts came from down the corridor, and before they knew it, the door burst open, with Mayuri Kurotsuchi leading, Nemu behind him, with Ukitake and Shunsui bringing up the rear. They tore themselves apart, aware that everyone was staring, dumbstruck, at them. "Kuso..." Byakuya heard Renji curse under his breath, and he scowled. He started, "This can be explained. If you have something to say, please do before I begin." Nobody spoke, and he sighed. Directing them to some seats, he prepared himself. Looking at his fuku-taichou, he squeezed Renji's hand and the both of them got ready for millions of questions to be pelted at them. But still, they were sure they could answer all. After all, what they did provided them with a more powerful kick than coffee
