H.O.A One-Shot Day 2013:
All Worth It

It was three in the morning. At three in the morning, her water broke. Panicking, she shook her husband awake who carried her to the car, got in it, and started to drive to the hospital. It wasn't until they were half-way there, that Nina Rutter realized that she was having a baby. Not just any baby, her one true loves' baby. Fabian had called ahead to let the hospital know that they were on their way and that Nina was in labor. She took a deep breath as another contraction hit her, grabbing Fabian's hand.

As they got to the hospital, Amber was already there, waiting to help with Nina because her daughter was born two months ago, so she knew how it felt. Fabian helped Nina into the hospital with Amber right by their side. They got to the room, and found out Nina was only to centimeters dilated. As Amber helped Nina through the contractions, Fabian (with Nina's permission) facebooked their group of friends and called Nina's Gran his parents. After Nina's Gran arrived first, then Fabian's mom, then the rest of their group, Nina found out that she had only dilated another centimeter, making her close to tears. She just wanted this over with.

21 hours later, Nina was 7 centimeters dilated. Their friends had gone home, leaving the couple, Nina's Gran, and Fabian's parents at the hospital. Nina was in pain, with some tears going down her face every now and then. Fabian's sitting her right next to her, wiping her tears every now and then and checking her birth plan, while the others were nowhere to be seen. At 37 hours, Nina's ready for delivery and the baby seems ready to see it's parents. While Nina was being rolled into the delivery room, she thinks to herself 'This baby better be so damn cute.'

After 15 minutes of crying, pushing, and screaming, baby Haley Victoria Rutter was born. As Fabian held his baby girl in his arms, he looked over at Nina with a big smile on his face. He passed his little girl to her, then sat next to her. She laid her head on his shoulder and he kissed her forehead gently. He muttered in her ear, "So, was she worth it?"

Nina nodded, smiled, and said, "She's all worth it."
