When the rain is blowing in your face,
And the whole world is on your case
I could offer you a warm embrace,
To make you feel my love…
Make You Feel My Love, Adele.
"You look beautiful tonight…"
"If you're trying to woo me Clark, it really isn't working." Clark smirked and shook his head.
"Of course not Chlo! You're a married woman now, and although I am invincible, I know Oliver could really hurt me." Chloe giggled.
"We've been married for what, an hour, and you're already trying to steal me?" Clark laughed and looked towards Lois and Oliver, who were also dancing. This was a weird version of couple swapping. It was also quite emotional, and it brought a couple of memories to the surface.
"I'm sorry Chlo, if I've ever hurt you, if I've ever not been there, cos I really care about you, like a sister, and I don't know what I'd do without you…" Chloe shushed him.
"That is all behind us Clark. We were stupid and stressed and I should've trusted you. And you should've trusted me." Clark smiled at his small best friend. She looked absolutely stunning. Even more than she had when she married Jimmy, if that was possible. Oliver had organised the service in Watchtower, because it was safer than the farm, and he'd already felt the pain and utter loss of her not being there for months.
"I love you Chlo, so much." Chloe looked up at him, with tears in her eyes, and smiled.
"I love you too Clark, although maybe not as much as Ollie…" Clark chuckled.
"Lois obviously comes first for me too," he looked down at her slightly wistfully. How different their lives were, although the journalist salaries really weren't that bad.
"I'm gonna miss you, while I'm in Australia…"
"I'll miss you too. I don't know who's going to control Lois…" Chloe laughed.
"You've become pretty good at that." Clark grinned, happy that everything was in the right place for once.
