"Remus, where are you taking me?" Mel asked Remus as she pulled on her boots. "Don't worry about it, Mel, it's a surprise." Mel hated when she didn't know what was going on, but gave up and followed him out of the common room. Mel still

didn't like valentines day, but she'd go along with it for everyone else's sakes. Oh well, she thought, maybe I'll have fun after all. Remus smiled back at her, and led her to the Womping Willow.

Mel's eyes got big when she saw that they were walking to the Whomping Willow and looked at him curiously. He grabbed her hand after freezing the tree so that they could climb in the whole at the base of the tree. Mel followed silently, wondering why he had brought her here of all places.

Remus squeezed her hand as he led her into the Shrieking Shack. She looked around, it wasn't as terrifying in the daylight as everyone made it out to be. "Welcome to hell." Remus told her as he led her through the house, showing her everything. She looked at him, "I'm not angry, but why did you bring me here?" she asked him. He looked at his feet bashfully. "Well I figured I'd share this part of my life with you too. I can't very well keep it a complete secret now can I? I can't hide it from you."

She smiled at him and hugged him. In a weird way, she decided that she was thrilled to be here. That meant that he was being completely open with her. And that made her care about him that much more. Mel handed him her gift. He looked at her curiously but laughed when he saw the bar of Honeydukes chocolate and the quil he'd been staring at every time they went on a Hogsmeade trip.
