A/N; I'm catching up with NCIS from season one on and these little drabbles are demanding to be written :) This one is from the end of season two's 'The Good Wives Club'
Not again. He had vowed last time that he wouldn't allow it to happen again. But he'd left him go off alone, he'd taken his eye off the ball and now he wasn't answering his phone. It brought back too many memories of those 5 hours, when they couldn't find him not long ago, when Abby had looked at him with pleading eyes to find him. Last time he knew he'd get him back whatever it took, this time as he saw his body lying still at the door to the bunker, he was afraid he wouldn't. As Kate disarmed the lieutenant he heard a moan and could finally steal a glance at his senior agent. This wasn't going to happen again...but how could he stop it.
