He splashed across the parking lot, yanked open the tall glass door and, dripping wet, stepped into the airport. "I hope he didn't have to wait too long", Alfred thought as he ran through the huge halls to the gate, where he soon spotted his boyfriend. "What took you so long?" Arthur hissed, glaring at him with those gorgeous emerald eyes. "I kinda got caught up in a traffic jam on the highway...it's not my fault, I really tried to be on time! I mean, I would never leave you waiting on purpose!" "I know that, love", Arthur sighed. Alfred was confused. Did Arthur forgive him? Or was he still mad at him? Sometimes, he got a little bit confused by the Englishman's temper. Nonetheless, he wasn't going to let a stupid traffic jam ruin their reunion after being separated for 2 months because of work. "How about you help me with my luggage instead of staring in the air and daydreaming?" "Huh? Of course, babe!" "How often do I have to tell you to stop calling me…mmpf!" Arthur never had the time to finish this sentence because suddenly another pair of lips claimed his own. Regarding the fact that he didn't have the chance to kiss his lover in 2 months now, Alfred had spontaneously decided to get rid of the jet-lag caused nagging and just get on with it. After all, a kiss had always been the best way to silence Arthur.
When they finally made it home-the highway was still blocked- the first thing Arthur did was to fall asleep on the couch because of his jet lag, since it was a pretty long flight from London to New York. He woke up to the smell of tea and coffee, and figured that Alfred was making breakfast in the kitchen. The Englishman stood up and walked right into his boyfriend, who was currently carrying a tray and trying not to spill anything. "Calm down and drink some tea, I bought it extra for you after all." Alfred said to his lover, who thankfully took the cup and nipped at the hot liquid. "Alfred?" "Yes?" "What is a bloody ring doing in my tea?!" "Well…they legalized gay marriage here and I really love you and stuff…and I'm horrible at doing such things…give me another try" Alfred took the ring, fell on his knees and finally asked "Arthur, will you marry me?" "Hell yes, you romantic fool" The blonde chuckled and pulled his fiancé into a kiss.
