As always comments are love!

Her first date with the drug dealer her daddy yelled, and she yelled back.

It was her life-and she loved him. They were going to get married someday. Who was he to try to keep them apart?

Her second date with the drug dealer her daddy didn't yell-he didn't even look at her.

And Sara never stopping wishing he had yelled.

It took seven months and four days in Panama until Sara finally spoke of her parents.

They were swinging gently in the breeze on their hammock

"I always blamed him for everything. You'd think after all the meetings I went to I would have learned to accept responsibility."

"You did, Sara, you have."

"For my addiction-maybe. But not for my relationship with him."

"He understood-in the end." He stroked her hair and brushed his lips across her forehead

that rested on his chest.

"I blamed him for everything-my mother's death, my addiction, my failures." Sara stared off into the water. "He wasn't responsible for any of it."

Michael flinched, "That isn't completely true, Sara. He was your father-he should have been watching over you. He should have never let you get that far."

"Michael I made my own decisions. How far was he suppose to go on picking up the pieces of my life?" she titled her head back to look at him.

"As far as necessary, Sara. If you love someone you never give up on them. He was all you had left he should have been there for you-no matter what choices you made." He pulled his head back a little to make eye contact.

Sara stared at him for a moment then placed her head back on his chest. "This is different then what you did for Lincoln, Michael. He was innocent. I was a drug addict."

"Sara-" Michael started.

"I wasn't worthy of his devotion." She whispered more to the blue skies then the man beside her. "He was right to leave me."

Michael pushed himself up to lean over her down at her; he bent his face to hover over hers. "Sara-you're worthy of devotion. You both made mistakes and you both paid for them. All that matters is that he loved you and you loved him."

Sara studied the blue eyes that were fixed intently on her. She lifted a hand to his cheek and gave a heavy sigh. "Thank you."

"It's true." He placed a light kiss on her lips before falling back into his place at her side.

Sara curled herself into his arms then closed her eyes.

She released a breath and her angry thoughts of her father.

Michael was right, she had loved him, he had loved her and that was all that matter.
