Esme's POV
I was sitting on the couch in the living room, just thinking about tomorrow. Would this really be the end of our family? Would the Volturi come and destroy our family? The music from the radio interrupted my thoughts. I looked up and listened intently to the melody. I knew this song. I grabbed the controller foe the stereo system, and cranked the volume, listening to the first verse:

All of my doubt suddenly goes away somehow
As I sat and listened to the first verse my early memories of Carlisle came to mind. I sat in the emergency room trying not to cry out in pain. I couldn't bear it. My leg was in so much pain. If only I hadn't climbed that stupid tree. But all the pain seemed to go away when this god like man walked in. His perfect face and his beautiful blonde hair. As we talked, my heart was beating a million miles an hour. I was just so shy around this man. I had asked him about his family and he told me he had none. I saw the pained expression in his eyes. The poor man was all alone.

Carlisle sang the verse as he looked at me from the doorway. I smiled he walked over and wrapped his arms around me as I join in his singing.

Our eyes never left each others as we sang. He never let go of me. The song ended and our lips locked. I kissed him passionately. Wanting to pour every bit of my heart and soul into it. We broke apart, and he looked me in the eyes,
"I won't let anything happen to you tomorrow. I won't let anything take away, what standing in front of me." he promised. I smiled.
"I know." I said and rested my head on his chest. "I love you,"
"And I love you," he said kissing the top of my head. "I always have,"
"And always will," I finished for him. He smiled and looked down at me.
"Always," he said.
"Forever," I sighed, snuggling into his embrace.
