Just a little tease of something I've been working on for a while...
DISCLAIMER: I wish. I sincerely do.
Small clumps of light hair fell to the ground limply, adding to a growing pile. Small pieces stuck to her face, and she frowned, brushing the unwanted hair off of her cheeks. She carefully snipped at her hair, being sure to avoid cutting her ears. This continued for several minutes before she gently put down the shears and examined her reflection pensively, pursing her lips. Contemplatively, she pushed her bangs back with her palms, then frowned, letting the hair fall back onto her forehead. Cecilia Phantomhive studied her reflection, angling her head this way and that. Every now and then, she caught a flash of bright purple, something that would take some getting used to. However…She had to admit, she looked quite like her brother. A pang of sadness came with the thought of him, but she pushed it back, instead choosing to wonder if she looked enough like him to pass as him.
She'd spent the previous hours lowering her voice and enunciating as clearly as she could, trying to keep her expression set in one of general disinterest and apathy. Some things were still a little spotty, but if she kept conversations as short as possible, it was likely that no one would know the difference.
As far as everyone aside from herself and the demon butler was concerned, Cecilia Phantomhive had burned along with her parents. Only Ciel was left. It was simply easier that way.
Satisfied for the moment, she reached for the clean white bandages sitting next to a silver brush, wondering where Sebastian was. As if her thoughts had summoned him, he appeared behind her, a gloved hand taking the bandages from her fingers.
"If I may, my lord." he murmured, already efficiently tying the bandages around her head. (Unnecessary for medical reasons, but until her story was more…fabricated, necessary to make what little she had seem real.)
"Sebastian," she started once he was finished, turning her head to look at him. Impassive red eyes stared at her expectantly, and she almost laughed at how willing he seemed. Sebastian was certainly much different than she'd expected. "Sweep up that hair; it's getting bothersome." she ordered, making sure to keep a haughty undertone to her words as she swept past him, taking deliberate steps.
She didn't turn to see if he obeyed her—she knew he would, if only because of their contract. Instead, she quietly exited the room. It was time for Ciel Phantomhive to make his reappearance to the land of the living.
Yeppers, it's painfully short! But I'm trying to just give everyone a little taste and see what the feedback's like. Let me know, will you? :3
