"Tell me about Hogwarts Teddy!" James looked up at his big brother with those puppy eyes, "Please?"
Teddy, unable to resist his brother decided to tell James about the founders, the sorting hat and the sorting...He might change one or two things but-James wont mind, will he? "Okay but don't interrupt, okay? Many many moons ago, when the world was ripe and few knew the art of magic, four valiant magicians set out on journey.
'Upon the highest mountain, we shall place our palace of magic!' The brave one said, 'Therefore, only the courageous of them all will reach it!'
'No, no! Within the trickiest maze of all, we shall place our palace of magic!' The wise one said, 'Therefore, only the cleverest of them all will reach it!
'Perhaps surrounded beasts of all kind, we shall place our palace of magic!' The cunning one said, 'Therefore, only the sliest of them all will reach it!'
'My dear magicians,' The loyal one said, 'Why don't we combine efforts of us all to create and find our palace of magic?'
The brave one, the wise one and the cunning one agreed and decided the loyal one shall choose the location.
Two moons later the loyal one had found a place worth their effort and thus began the building of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry.
The location was beautiful. They decided to build the palace upon a small hill, as the brave one wished. Towards the left of the palace would be an
enchanted forest full of dangerous and exotic creatures, as the cunning one wished. Within the palace they created secret doors and passages, as the
wise one wished. And within the lake opposite the forest they placed a mystical creature of the deep; the giant squid, because the loyal one decided
the fish may be lonely.
When the magicians were old and worn they decided to create another mystery for their school. A singing, talking, rather nosy hat!
The four friends taught the hat what each of them treasured the most and when the four finally set to rest the four houses began.
Each year the hat would sing a song and sort the young wizards and witches alike.
You might belong in Gryffindor,
Where dwell the brave at heart,
Their daring, nerve, and chivalry
Set Gryffindors apart;
You might belong in Hufflepuff,
Where they are just and loyal,
Those patient Hufflepuffs are true
And unafraid of toil;
Or yet in wise old Ravenclaw,
if you've a ready mind,
Where those of wit and learning,
Will always find their kind;
Or perhaps in Slytherin
You'll make your real friends,
Those cunning folks use any means
To achieve their ends.
Many moons had past and the sorting hat grew tired, thus retiring one day before the sorting. Now each year a new task awaits each and every soul
to see which house you most suit most of all. Nobody knows were the hat had gone, but we all suspect he's with the giant squid of the lake waiting
to reclaim his job once again!
But listen closely my dear friends for which challenge shall you face in the end? Will it be a dragon of the deepest cave? Or perhaps a potion
to be made? No-one knows not even the head for the palace of magic remains a mystery to us all!"
Harry, Teddy's godfather had been standing at the door way listening to Teddy's story about Hogwarts. He give a little chuckle and shuck his head whilst James looked rather horrified at the idea of battling a dragon or perhaps it's the idea of brewing a potion...
