It was Marik's first day at a new school, and Marik sat behind a girl his age. "Hi, my name is Marik Ishtar; it's nice to meet you." said Marik. "My name is Kagome Higurashi; it is nice to meet you too." said Kagome. Once Marik returned home from school, his sister, Ishizu was in the kitchen, making supper. "Marik, is that you?" asked Ishizu. "Yes, sister." replied Marik. After supper, Marik went for a walk in the neighbourhood, and saw Kagome at some kind of shrine in her yard. "Hi, Kagome." said Marik. "Hey, Marik." replied Kagome. Marik and Kagome went into the shrine, and then Marik saw a demonic aura coming from the well. After they were pulled into the well, they were in another era. "Where in Ra's name are we?" asked Marik. "It looks like we're in Feudal Japan." replied Kagome. Then Marik and Kagome saw a boy clad in a red kimono sealed to a tree by an arrow. That night, Lady Centipede was chasing Marik and Kagome, until they heard a voice coming from the tree. "Kikyo, you never told me you had a friend with you?" asked the boy. "Kikyo? Who's Kikyo?" Marik asked Kagome. "Kikyo, I'm waiting for my answer." said the boy in red. "My name is Kagome, not Kikyo." said Kagome. "Hey kid, what's your name?" asked the boy. "Where are my manners, my name is Marik Ishtar." replied Marik. "My name is InuYasha." said InuYasha. After Kagome pulled the arrow out of InuYasha, he killed Lady Centipede. It was getting late, and Marik had to get back home before Ishizu finds out where he was. "I have to get home now, it was nice meeting you InuYasha." said Marik. Once Marik walked through the door, he was tired. The next day, Kagome rang the doorbell. "Marik, Kagome is here!" called Ishizu. "I'll be right there in a minute." replied Marik. "Ishizu, could you make supper early?" asked Marik. "Of course, Marik." replied Ishizu. After supper, Marik went over to Kagome's house for their adventure. "So InuYasha, Kagome tells me that you're a half-demon." said Marik. "Yeah, I'm a half-demon." said InuYasha. "What about you, Marik?" asked InuYasha. "I was a tomb-keeper before my sister and I moved to Japan." replied Marik. "Cool." said InuYasha. "No, it's not cool at all, when I was ten years old I had to get the Tomb-Keeper's Initiation carved into the skin on my back." said Marik, with tears in his eyes. "I didn't know that, I'm sorry." said InuYasha. "It's not your fault, InuYasha." said Marik. Then a fox-demon showed up. "What's wrong, little one?" asked Marik. "My father died." replied Shippo. "I'm sorry to hear that." said Marik. "I lost my mother after I was born." replied Marik. Marik had to go home now. "Bye, InuYasha!" called Marik.
