Recovery

We begin not so long after the battle of Hogwarts where many wizards showed the strength they did not know they had, felt pain they did not know was possible and discovered bonds they never knew were there. The wizarding world had a new light knowing that Voldemort (we can say the name now obviously) would never cause hurt again. Harry Potter became more famous than ever before but with his closest friends and adopted family beside him, he never felt alone or un-loved.

Ron and Hermione hastened to make up for all the time lost bickering and were never more than a few metres away from each other. They comforted each other as the Weasleys came to terms with the loss of Fred and they laughed with one another as they remembered his natural humorous nature. They went together on a trip to Australia to retrieve Hermione's parents. (They argued over this one, Ron insisting that he needed to be there with Hermione who was insisting that he shouldn't leave his grieving family). It was a joyous occasion as the Grangers and the Weasleys came together to celebrate the joining of two people who always loved each other but needed a war raging to feel able to express it.

Harry and Ginny needed no such words of encouragement or comfort. No words needed to be spoken. They slotted back together like fragments of a broken vase, no joins were visible and they were stronger than ever. Harry poured his heart out to Ginny with all the things he felt he could never say out loud and in return Ginny became his best friend as well as his soul mate and lover. One not-so significant morning as they were lazing in bed together, Harry asked Ginny to marry him. She said yes of course but the enormity of the engagement did not sink in until much later in the day as they told their family. They were going to be together for the rest of their lives. Mrs Weasley started crying (tears of joy now instead of pain) and Mr Weasley held her as tears also trickled down his cheeks. Ron was the first to leap on the couple congratulating them and saying how lucky he felt to have a brother like Harry. This of course set the whole room off and Hermione leapt on Ron crying and kissing him at the same time.

The wedding was a quiet affair, not a photographer in site and the presence of Fred sorely missed. All the couple's closest friends were present to watch the happy union. In marriage, they became closer than ever and as they took to the floor for their first dance, everyone watching could see the pain and relief of their story. This would be the first step of many to remove darkness from the world.

That day, there was no sorrow, pain or despair; only hope, love, and tranquillity. The world was beginning to recover.
