A Remus Lupin/ Narcissa Black love story... Again, like I said in my prequel this is one of my favorite couples. I hope you like this.
Daytime love is a dangerous thing...
Remus crunched down on the rancid meat his love had brought down. Why did he have to suffer so much. Why should she have to. They loved each other, but they couldn't admit it. She had grown smarter than most of his friends and she came during school to see him. She always looked so nice, but she looked like she was a vampire, she was so pale.
It was funny to think that none of his friends knew of their relationship which thrived when he was like this. He couldn't be around her all the time, but when he calmed down a bit. That part was easy when she brought down meat for him. She often would let him carry the meat over and lay it on her so he could chew it while looking up at her. He would lay in her lap.
They couldn't snog like most people could, but that wasn't so bad considering. Remus threw the piece of meat in the air and caught it in his mouth. Narcissa laughed at this trick he had taught himself. He was having less and less time to do these things now that Narcissa came around during the day and his friends came at night. But that was a good thing. He knew he'd rather be cuddling with his girlfriend or playing with his friends than teaching himself stupid tricks.
Lupis tore the meat up and brought a little piece over to Narcissa. She laughed and shook her head. The hair bounced off the back of her head. "Hon. I talked to James today. He told me you were in Paris visiting your family. Can you get me something nice while you're there."
Lupin looked up attentively and watched her laugh. He wish he could laugh with her and then tell her yeah someday he'd go to Paris and buy her something pretty, but he couldn't tell her. He couldn't laugh. What he could though he did. He wagged his tail.
Narcissa smiled. "Oh good. That must be a yes. I was wondering if I could tame you."
She laughed again. Lupin put his face in her lap and she pet him. Lupin loved being babied by her. Who cares if his friends told him he was supposed to be strong. Narcissa pet behind his ears. He loved that, it felt so good.
Narcissa held up her bag. "I brought you a gift."
Another one. Wasn't the meat enough? Still he sat up and watched her pull out a book. "We went to Hogsmeade yesterday and I saw this book I thought you'd love. I don't mean as a chew toy either. I thought I'd read to you from it every night until you turn back. Then you can read yourself. Or maybe we can still plan on getting together."
Lupin looked up and wagged his tail. She smiled whole heartedly. "You mean it. No more hiding it from your friends."
Lupin wagged all the harder as if to say. "Of course babe. No more. I love you and I want the whole world to know."
Narcissa jumped up and rapped her hands around his neck. There was no way he could hug back until he turned back, but it felt good. And he was sure she understood. She went back over to the table and started reading a wonderful book about two people who were so in love yet so different.
