A poem about Beckondorf's thoughts of Silena before and after he died in The Last Olympian. I was also very angry to find out that there were no other poems about Beckondorf and Silena! Come on, they're our tragedy couple, people! Absolutely none! Well, I do enjoy poetry, and I tried my best with this one in particular, I hope you enjoy it.
Honesty
I hope you'll never get to read this,
you'll be keeping monsters at bay.
But when I saw you, it was pure bliss,
I honestly did not know what to say...
Being a child of Hephaestus was never easy,
my simple past in the armory was never new.
Until, that one day that made me very queasy,
Don't you remember? It was the day I met you.
Maybe it's your eyes and hair; a true art,
the girl who was my own black and blue.
The color of a bruise placed on my heart,
to me, you were never a little Mary Sue.
I always wondered what you really did to me,
to be under a charm of Aphrodite's daughter.
Nevertheless, this drove me down to one knee,
I would be with you, come Hades or high water.
That's just what happened, before I even asked,
oh, the irony, the bittersweetness of you, my love.
At the doors of death to be judged and unmasked,
and Elysium is peachy, a place I can be deprived of.
I watched, waited, I listened, I became impatient,
the painful weeks ensued, and the war advanced.
In horror, you transformed into something lenient,
however, nothing mattered, you were still entranced.
Dear Silena, you betrayed us, but your loyalty stayed,
because on that faithful day, you took that fatal blow.
I couldn't hate you for long, and then you began to fade,
All I could do was wait for you to come down below.
You had nothing to fear, you would see me in your view,
I was furious, you fled from the life you had; the blood you shed.
You died a lonely noble death, but I would've died for you,
nothing I do would work, as you can see, I am already dead.
It's okay, I guess. Sorry if it seems depressing, but, it says Tragedy up there doesn't it? In all of the poetry I've read, they usually make their stanzas short and sweet. I'm sorry if mine aren't like that, but I naturally love to lengthen my writing. Please review, even if you hate it, I welcome all comments. Check out my other story, and my profile, which, coincidentally, also has another poem I wrote on it. And finally, keep writing and reading my fellow FanFictioners!
