Harvey typed away on his laptop, mumbling to himself as his eyebrows furrowed, his face disapproving of the screen's contents. His fingers stopped at every few typed words as they drummed onto the keyboard. "Hm…" His eyes darted over to the door, pressing the intercom on his desk and sighing loudly. "Donna!"
When there was no reply, he groaned in annoyance, picked up his cell phone, and the first number registered on his speed dial. After a few rings, Harvey was directed to her automatic voicemail. He let his phone drop onto his desk, a bit forced, and cradled his head into his big hands. "Where the hell is she…" he asked himself, as if he knew the answer. It had been the twelfth time he had tried to reach her cell, but to no avail. And even though he arrived to work late (again), when he noticed an empty secretary desk, it felt like the day was going to be long and somewhat lonely.
The lawvey didn't notice, nor acknowledge the door opening. Mike strolled into his fairly clean office, holding up a few manila folders in his hands, sporting a wide grin. "Yo, Harvey! Guess what I managed to snag up for that—" He stopped once he saw Harvey moping on his chair, mumbling to himself. The high-five that Mike wanted to deliver to him had dropped. "Er…"
"Shut up." A sigh was emitted. The senior partner peeked up from his hands, gazing at Mike, troubled. "Donna's not here."
Blue eyes blinked at the sulking lawyer, a bit confused. "What?"
"Donna's not here, are you deaf?" Standing up, the dark blond grabbed his cell phone and keys, and after swiftly closing his laptop shut, he strolled towards the door. "I need her here, so I'm going to go look for her, Mike. So, get out of my office."
"What the hell are you talking about."
Hand on the door, Harvey looked over his shoulder, now glaring at him. "Do you not see an annoying redheaded secretary here? I'm going to drag her back here myself."
Mike crossed his arms, sighing and leaning against his fancy desk. "Harvey," he deadpanned, "you gave her the day off. It's her mani-pedi day."
It took a few moments for the lawyer to process what Mike had told him, before he let go of the handle and relaxed. "Oh, yeah."
