"Why did you come back?" Edith asked.

"I didn't. The TARDIS did." The Doctor replied.

"I'm glad you're back."

"Really?"

"Of course."

"I thought you hated me."

"I was angry, Doctor…does your offer still stand?"

"Absolutely."

"Then I accept."

"What changed your mind?"

"What do you mean?"

"Last time I was here you were getting married and didn't want to come."

"A lot has happened since then. The war, almost losing the house…. and I was jilted at the alter."

"I'm tempted to go to Locksley and give Anthony Strallen a piece of my mind!" He exclaimed Girls like Edith Crawley always had the worst luck and it wasn't fair.

"No…just take me with you."

The Doctor smiled. "Edith Crawley are you ready to travel time and space."

The second daughter of the Earl of Grantham was beaming. "Yes."

"Well then, Allons-y!" Edith followed the Doctor into the TARDIS.

"It's just like I remember…Bigger on the inside."

The Doctor smiled, he loved it when people said that.

"So, Miss Crawley where would you like to go first?"

"Actually I'd like to ask you something."

"Ask away."

"Why me? Why not Sybil or Mary."

"Why would I chose Sybil or Mary when there's Edith?"

"Most people would not say that."

"Well most people don't know how important you are."

"Doctor I think you over estimate my abilities. I'm nothing special."

"And that, Edith Crawley, is where you are wrong. You are far more special and important than your sisters."

"How?"

That smile Edith was already growing accustom to appeared again. "I'll show you." The Doctor started pushing buttons and pulling levers. "Hold on!" He told her as the TARDIS began to spin into space.
