Disclaimer: I don't own any of these characters, the beautiful Stephenie Meyer does.
I wrote this in all of about eleven minutes-so don't expect great grammar from me. Please leave reviews-I love them!
"It's a hand-me-down, I promise you."
"But, Edward, I said no presents." My voice was almost whiney now, it was my wedding day and he had to go and
ruin it for me.
"Please?" He released the full power of his unbridled beauty on me-obviously not realizing the unnatual affect
it had on me. Or maybe he did.
"Fine." I grumbled, snatching the velvety red box the size of a square inch out of his hand and yanking it until it
opened.
"Be careful, now. I want you to be able to wear it." I ignored him and took a glance at the beautiful charm inside.
Surely, this had cost him more than the diamond heart he had given me just weeks ago. He was trying to outdo Jacob,
and he knew I knew it.
"Well, it is pretty. Thank you. But I don't understand why you felt the need to force yet another gift on me." I
was genuinely interested in his answer.
"It's my wedding gift to you. Now I better get moving or Alice will have my head. She really appreciates all this
cooperation from you, Bella. I don't want to be the one to wreck tradition." He gave me a quick peck on the cheek-
obviously searching for Alice's 'voice' to make positive he had to leave me alone for the rest of the day; save for
the ceremony. I could hardly think the words.
After a long four hours of "getting ready"-I would like to call it a slow, painful, internal death by hairspray
fumes-Alice and, surprising as it is, Rosalie carried me off to stand by Edward on the pew. I wouldn't allow for a
big wedding with everyone I knew-that would just be downright embarrassing. Only the Cullens were present.
I took an even longer look at Edward and couldn't help but think of how stupid he was. He could marry any person
on the planet he ever wanted. And he chose me. Ordinary, clumsy Bella. I was the luckiest person on the entire face
of the earth. And not too far from now, my position would be lengthened to luckiest girl in all of time.
