CHAPTER ONE: DEATH'S MASTER AND DECEPTION
I don't own Harry Potter, I'm just borrowing him for a little while.
Harry Potter was pissed, no scratch that he was fucking livid. He had just finished with the goblins at Gringotts where he had gone to make reparations for his actions during the war. The goblins had taken it extremely well, asking for monetary reparation of five thousand galleons and a detailed report on how exactly that he and his friends, scratch that ex-friends had managed to break into and then out of the famed bank, so they could upgrade security. No there were no problems in those regards, Harry was fully prepared to give much more, he had let lose a dragon for fucks sake. They weren't cheap. No the problem had occurred when he told the goblins they could take the gold directly from his vault and they asked him which one, and he thus he discovered the duplicity of the people he thought loved him.
_Flashback_
This was the first he had been in the Alley since just before the final battle almost four weeks ago now. He was under a heavy glamour. He never left Grimmauld Place without them anymore, not after what happened in Hogsmeade. He shuddered, mobs of enthusiastic witches and wizards were, if possible, scarier than Voldemort had ever been. While he escaped relatively intact, he'd only had his boxers and his left sock when he got back to Grimmauld Place. The Alley wasn't extremely busy but the shops had been magically repaired and were once again open for business. He glanced at Wizarding Wheezes his throat constricting slightly. As he walked through the Alley he enjoyed the feeling of being completely unnoticeable and made his way unmolested. Pausing front of the white marble building he straightened up his back, squared his shoulders and dropped the extensive glamour's before ascending the steps and entering the building.
When he was not immediately executed upon his entrance he took it as a good sign. Although no goblin approached him he could see and even feel the glares being thrown his way. Cautiously he approached a teller.
"To your vault I assume Mr. Potter?" said the goblin without looking up. Harry gulped at the goblin's tone before replying,
"No sir." The goblin's head snapped up in surprise but a sneer remained on his face.
"Oh," said the goblin leaning down to get a better look at Harry, "Than what, Mr. Potter can Gringotts do for you today?" He said still sneering.
"I," Harry paused, "I wanted to apologize and offer compensation for breaking into the bank last month and was wondering who I should talk to." This time the goblin couldn't keep the surprise off his face.
"Follow me Mr. Potter," said the goblin closing down his till and dropping from his seat lightly to the floor, before heading down one of the many hallways. Harry quickly followed silently.
"Um, may I ask your name?" Harry asked trying to break the awkwardness amplified by the silence as they arrived in front of an office door. The goblin scrutinized Harry as he fidgeted before finally answering,
"My name is Silvershield, Mr. Potter."
"Thank-you Silvershield you can call me Harry if you'd like," said Harry as he held out his hand to shake. Silvershield took it and nodded his thanks before turning to knock of the door in front of them. They waited a moment in silence before a terse,
"Enter," was heard from inside the room. Silvershield opened the door and waved Harry through before turning to close it behind him. Harry turned back before he could do so.
"Thank-you Silvershield, I know that I've made the lives of everyone who works at the bank much more difficult and yet you still treated me nicely and were willing to help me," said Harry.
"It was my pleasure Harry," said Silvershield before he left the office door closing behind him leaving Harry alone with the goblin already in the office.
"Impressive Mr. Potter," said the goblin. Harry turned to the goblin confused.
"I'm sorry, but what's impressive sir?" asked Harry.
"You've earned the respect of Silvershield, Mr. Potter, to earn the respect a goblin is an amazing feat, to earn the respect of a goblin such as Silvershield who tends to dislike witches and wizards is something else indeed," answered the goblin gesturing for Harry to sit in one of the two chairs set in front of the heavy wooden desk.
"I hadn't realized," said Harry sitting down. The seats were firm without being uncomfortable.
"Nonetheless you have, which however is most likely not the reason why you are in my office today," said the goblin.
"No sir, it isn't" said Harry before drawing breath to continue. He was interrupted by the goblin,
"Shattersmith."
"Pardon?" asked Harry.
"It's my name Mr. Potter, I would prefer its use over Sir," answered Shattersmith.
"Oh, um, okay, you can call me Harry if you'd like," said Harry.
"As you will, now back to the topic at hand, why are you here today?" asked Shattersmith.
"I wanted to come earlier but there were some setbacks," Harry grimaced.
"Yes we heard about the events of Hogsmeade, but please continue," said Shattersmith. Harry blushed at the mention of Hogsmeade, but continued nonetheless,
"I wanted to apologize for the destruction I caused by my actions and make financial reparations to the bank for the loss of a dragon and damages that was cause by the breakout with said dragon towards the bank."
"May I ask why?" Shattersmith was suddenly suspicious of Harry's actions.
"What do you mean?" asked Harry oblivious to Shattersmith's change in emotion.
"Do you wish to gain favor from the goblins for your own gain?" Shattersmith asked bluntly. Harry was visibly surprised which seemed to calm Shattersmith somewhat.
"No! I just…. I was responsible for the damage so it's my responsibility to help fix it," said Harry.
"Perhaps you are the man you seem, Harry Potter," replied Shattersmith. Harry relaxed in relief. "Normally we would seize the gold required to compensate with interest directly from the offenders vaults but in this case, since you have come of your own accord I think we can come to a better solution," said Shattersmith. Harry nodded enthusiastically glad to be finally getting somewhere.
"If there isn't enough gold in my vaults I'm happy to set up some kind of payment plan or even work for the bank, you can take it out of my vault, I'm fine with that," said Harry.
"Not have enough? Mr. Potter you could loose all of Gringotts security dragons and still have enough to live comfortably for the rest of your life and that's just from the Potter vaults," said Shattersmith.
"Oh okay. Wait a minute vaults? As in more than one? What do you mean only the Potters? How could I have any others?" asked Harry confused.
"Aye, the Potters were only a Noble house much like the English Malfoy house but were still quite well off. The Blacks however were a Noble and Ancient house and although the recent generations had a string of bad luck they are still quite wealthy. Mr. Potter you are an extremely wealthy wizard with just those two accounts, and that is not including the Peverell vault or any others you may have inherited," said Shattersmith becoming slightly irate.
"Why didn't I know any of this before?" asked Harry still slightly confused.
"Are you telling me Mr. Potter, that you haven't been receiving statements since July 31st 1991 when you turned eleven years old?" asked Shattersmith slowly trying to control the anger that was threatening to seep away from him.
"No?" answered Harry still confused.
"Are you aware of the transactions that have occurred concerning your vaults from the date of August 2nd 1981 to the last one of approximately four days ago?" asked Shattersmith gripping the edge of his desk tightly.
"What? No! I didn't even know about them. The only time I got money it was for school out of my trust vault and I thought it was the only vault I had," said Harry really quickly as he became slightly overwhelmed. Shattersmith cursed in a strange language that Harry guessed was Gobbledygook and Harry flinched. Shattersmith caught the flinch and frowned slightly.
"I apologize for my outburst Mr. Potter that was unprofessional of me. This is in no way your fault but our own and Gringotts will rectify it as soon as we can," Shattersmith said writing something out with a quill and snapping his fingers making the parchment pop away with a small puff of greenish smoke. "That was an alert to bring the items for a full magic scan. It will tell us exactly what you are entitled to, what kinds of wards or binds may have been placed on you both aggressive and defensive, as well as any active spells, potions and enchantments. While we wait for that perhaps we can come to an accord about the reparations you originally came here for?"
"That would be agreeable yes," answered Harry still wondering why he had accounts he had never known about and why they would be active.
"Alright, then let us begin. The physical damage to the bank was in all honestly very little as we were able to easily repair most of it with magic, therefore for the physical damage we would only claim two thousand gallons. Unfortunately banking was stopped for an hour which means we could claim anywhere from five thousand to ten thousand gallons. However business was already slowed because of death eaters and your actions did remove them from this bank allowing business to resume at a higher pace than before so I will scratch that as payed off. While there were no deaths in your escape you did injure two goblin guards in the collapse of the roof as you flew out of the bank, one thousand gallons must go to each of them as compensation," said Shattersmith and Harry nodded his agreeance.
"Then we come to the dragon," Shattersmith sighed. "You were extremely lucky in your choice of a ride out. The dragon you rode out on was old and scheduled for culling only a few days after you escaped. However the parts that would have been rendered from the body were still worth approximately three thousand gallons, however I will lower that to one thousand if you would be willing to detail exactly how you managed to break in and out of one of the most secure vaults in one of the most secure buildings in all of Europe.
"I would be more than willing," answered Harry. "I can dictate it to you or write it down and the money can come from my trust vault for now I suppose. I think there should be enough." Shattersmith nodded.
"I would prefer the memory if you will, and yes there should be more than enough in the trust vault to cover the damages."
"Oh I can do that," said Harry putting his wand to his head and slowly drawing out the memory. Shattersmith quickly dug through one of his drawers and pulled out a vial for Harry to deposit the strand in. Shattersmith capped and labeled it putting it aside as a knock sounded on the door.
"Enter" called Shattersmith. A goblin entered carrying a beautifully carved wooden bowl that was painted black with silver and gold accents along with a wicked looking knife and a large jar of some sort of liquid. He set them down on the table before reaching into his shirt and pulling out a roll of waxy looking parchment.
"Thank-you," said Shattersmith. "You are dismissed." The other goblin gave a small head nod and quickly left.
"They all seem to respect you, you must have a very high up position," said Harry. Shattersmith chuckled,
"You could say that. I am the current leader of the U.K goblins, I defer only to King Ragnok the current high king of the goblins as my superior." Harry's eyes widened,
"Oh I didn't know." Shattersmith waved it off before gesturing to the items that had been brought in. "Shall we?" Harry nodded and asked.
"What do I need to do?" Shattersmith opened the jar and poured it carefully into the bowl murmuring something in language that seemed to vibrate through Harry's bones. The bowl began to give off a pulsating blue glow and Shattersmith turned to Harry and answered,
"You must give some of your life's blood, which means you must cut an artery but not any artery one of the eniteat efficacitate or 'Intimate Contact' arteries. Fear not the blade has properties that will allow you to heal immediately so that only the blood on the blade will remain. You most then stir the potion with the blade to mix in the blood. Your choices are the Carotid in your neck the Pulmonary in your heart or the Femoral in your inner leg."
"My neck, it's the easiest since I don't feel like dropping my pants or stabbing myself through the heart," answered Harry. Shattersmith nodded grinning. Of the few people who go through this process, most pick the same option. Harry nodded and quickly slit the knife through his through leaving nothing, not even a line behind. A small amount of blood pooled on the edge of the blade and Harry quickly plunged it into the bowl and stirred. The vibrant glowing blue liquid turned a dark purple and swirled with emerald and silver strands.
"It's done," said Shattersmith taking the knife from Harry's hand and setting it aside as he unrolled the waxy parchment and dipped the corner into the liquid. The liquid leaped onto the paper running up it and defying gravity as it began forming words on the paper. Finally the bowl was empty and Shattersmith handed the parchment to Harry. Harry read the parchment slowly becoming angrier and angrier. His eyes began to glow with power and energy visibly crackled around him before he calmed himself and looked at Shattersmith.
"How do we fix this?" he asked handing the parchment to Shattersmith to read. Shattersmith cursed once more in his language as he read through the parchment.

"You'll have to claim your Lordships first. That will negate the potions compulsions and spells, the wards and the blocks will have to be removed in the ritual room," answered Shattersmith after he finished reading the parchment.
"Let's do that then," said Harry. "Er how do I do that?"
"Simply state your intent to claim your Lordships by right title and magic," answered Shattersmith.
"Okay," said Harry nodding, "I Hadrian James Potter, claim my titles by right blood and magic," he continued holding up his hand. For a moment nothing happened and then the room flashed as the lordship rings appeared on his hands. The compulsions and spells drained off of Harry as his mind buzzed with information from the family rings. Suddenly Harry gasped. The Peverell ring recognized him as not only the Peverell Lord but the Master of Death as well and downloaded his brain with information.
Using the hallows he could go back to the first time death touched him, the moment Voldemort threw the killing curse at Harry and fix everything, and he would, after he talked to Death and told his old friends exactly what he knew. He smirked, an evil smirk and even Shattersmith blanched.
"Shall we continue to the ritual room you mentioned so we can remove these annoying binds?" Harry asked. "And then to vault 1893 to pick up a few things."
"As you will Milord," nodded Shattersmith.
"Oh none of that Shattersmith call me Harry all my friends are allowed too," said Harry. Shattersmith raised an eyebrow but nodded in agreeance.
Four hours later Harry finally exited the bank all three hallows infused with his magical core that was now free of blocks and binds and he wanted revenge.
