Friday nights were simple date night. They had the place to themselves since the others moved out.
There would be popcorn, candy(too much in Fran's opinion), soda (too little in Dominic's opinion), a movie of RJ's choice and cuddles. They would cuddle up in this big quilt that her mom made years ago. It is a little ragged around the edges and faded in some places but it was warm and comfortable.
"I don't understand this movie. Why did the chick go back to the guy again?" Dominic said.
"Because they were in love," She said with a sigh.
"In love with a jerk," Dominic said as he threw a piece of popcorn at her.
"Hey," She shouted then threw a piece of popcorn back at Dominic.
"Children…Children…play nice," RJ said as he returned to his spot on the sofa.
"She started it," Dom said as he stuck out his tongue.
"I didn't! He wished it that it was a horror movie. So, he can make fun of it with Theo later," She added with a grin.
She was kind of surprised on how well those two bonded. At first, they seemed to be totally opposites. Slowly, they started to hang out and bond. Second to RJ, Theo was Dominic's closest friend.
"I need another movie to watch with Theo. We can only handle so much," Dom said.
RJ chuckled softly as he wrapped himself in the blanket. She moved over and cuddled next to him.
"Why are you cuddling with him and not me?" Dom said with a snort.
"Because he is nicer about the movie than you are," Fran said with a smile.
"It is because he picked the movie!"
"Well, RJ has good taste."
RJ chuckled softly.
"Well…I was kind of disappointed. The box made it sound so much better. Dom was right about the guy. The guy had some issues to deal with like his need to get into the girl's pants. The girl was lovely enough. She had great taste in cookies,"RJ said with a shrug.
She smiled slightly at the comment.
RJ had no problem with cuddling or touching. But sex didn't do anything for RJ at all. At one time, that bothered her. She loves RJ. She wanted to connect him on that level. Despite many conversations, it never happened.
Then Dom came. They just connected on different levels. She and Dom connected physical but also emotional. Dominic had a great understanding of RJ's mind than anyone. He understood. There were a few…okay…a lot of words to get them where they were. All of three seemed to fix together like pieces to a puzzle. Of course, telling the others were…interesting. Casey was shocked and turned red every time that he saw them together. Lily squeed and hugged them to death. To her surprise …Theo was least surprised. He just shrugged and said Goat told him.
She never could figure out that one.
She threw the blanket over herself and cuddled up to RJ. She grabbed Dominic's arm and pulled him next to her.
"HEY!" Dom laughed as he cuddled up next to her.
She glanced over at RJ who started the next movie. Then for a brief moment, his eyes lighten up.
It was totally worth it.
