The Assassins Code
Mohawk Valley, 1760
"Ratohnhake:ton! Where are you?" His mother called. "Up here mother." Ratohnhake:ton replied. His mother looked up and she saw his son perched up in a very high birch tree. "What are you doing up there?" She asked. "I love it up here, you can see the entire valley." Ratohnhake:ton replied. "Well you can climb up there later, it's time to eat." His mother called. "I'll be right down." Ratohnhake:ton said.
Ratohnhake:ton immediately jumped from tree to tree from each branch and jumped to the ground. He then walked to his mother's tent in their big camp, their tent was located at the far corner of it because his mother and him were treated as outcasts. They were treated this way because Ratohnhake:ton's mother had married a British man and since outsiders were strictly forbidden his father was forced to leave. Ratohnhake:ton was unaware of this since his mother never spoke of it and he didn't pursue the subject; the other kids stared at him in amazement at his acrobatic feat. Ratohnhake:ton ignored them as he crawled into their tent. Dinner was ready for him, as he ate he heard adults talking outside. Curiously he slipped his head slightly outside the tent flap.
"I don't care what those British bastards say!" A man said in a very harsh whisper. "We know that but if we don't comply they will kill us." A woman said. "She's right they have a small squad a little while away, they're armed heavily with muskets." A man said. "Sorry but we aren't going anywhere." A man replied. "What! Chief I thought of all people would see that we need to do what they say." The woman replied. "I'm sorry but we can't leave this is our home and we need to show them that they cannot do whatever they please." The chief said.
Ratohnhake:ton couldn't believe what he was hearing. The British might kill us if we don't leave our home. He silently removed his head from outside the tent and crawled into his makeshift bed made of bear fur. Ratohnhake:ton thought to himself "I can ask mother about this in the morning but for now I need to rest. He closed his eyes and went to sleep.
The smell of something burning immediately woke up Ratohnhake:ton. He jumped from his bed and drew a hidden tomahawk from under it. He thought to himself. "What could be burning at this time of night, something is very wrong." He then heard screams and the sounds of muskets being shot; He then quickly glanced at his mother's bed and saw that it was empty. "MOTHER!" Ratohnhake:ton yelled. "Ratohnhake:ton." His mother replied in barely a whisper." He crawled outside the tent and he couldn't believe his eyes, the entire camp was on fire. They're were screams and shouting coming from every direction, muskets being shot everywhere, redcoats stabbing men and women with their bayonets. "Ratohnhake:ton." His mother whispered. Ratohnhake:ton then followed his mother's voice and was horrified to see a redcoat standing over her with a musket bayonet raised ready to stab her. "MOTHER!" Ratohnhake:ton yelled. That was the only thing he had time to do before he plunged his blade deep into his mother's chest.
