IF YOU HAVE NOT WATCHED CODE GEASS, DO NOT READ ON. MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

The sun was shining on the crystal clear sky, and she felt the warmth on her face. A tear shone at the edge of her left eye. She didn't dare remove it.

The green grass looked so peaceful as it wavered in the wind. Just as the rest of the world, this meadow rested assure that it would live on in peace.

C.C. took in a deep breath and looked back at the sky. She let the tear wander down her cheek and closed her eyes.

Twenty years had gone by since Lelouch had died. The world that he had desired was now a reality.

C.C. had not given on another Geass since, even though death in some ways seemed more desirable now than ever before. But she had to live on, as a memory of his bravery.

And life, it seemed, had another dimension when it held a pain like the one she was carrying.

She put her hand against her heart and tried to concentrate. One day she would meet Lelouch again in the world of C, but until then, she had to watch the world for him. She owed him that, as the very least.

"We all made sacrifices, didn't we, Lelouch?" she said to the sky. She watched a cloud drift by and smiled at it. "But it's for the best of the world, right? The sorrow will vanish because of us." She blinked. "Fine! I'll move on! For you."

And she took the next step into the twentyfirst year without Lelouch, carrying another one of the smiles that she held inside herself only for him.

Written right after having watched the end of Code Geass.

At that point I thought Lelouch was dead, but now I am convinced otherwise. I am 100 % sure that Lelouch is still alive.

Anyway :) This is just a quick oneshot, and I wrote while being devastated over Lelouch' death. I cried while making it xD It's nothing special, but it's what I think C.C. would be thinking if things actually turned out this way.
