Bad Day
"Nateee!" Serena screeched. Panicking, he jumped up the hallway stairs, shot down the hallway, pushed open the bathroom door, and landed right by her side. Serena had been bleeding, but had no idea why. After her third child, she thought she was done having children. Little did she know, she was pregnant again. Pregnancies for Serena were always she had her first daughter, Kennedy, she was a tough little girl. She kicked her mother all throughout the pregnancy and Serena ended up being in labor for over twenty four hours. It was not her best moment. On top of the labor being painful enough, the entire pregnancy was scary. She had to make sure the baby was okay at all hours of the day. She had to go to the doctor twice a week. The pains in her stomach horrified her. March 30, 2005 was a cold, gloomy day. Serena peered out the window. It was pouring rain with thunder and lightening. She knew it had to be a bad day. Calling Nate home from work, they rushed to the hospital. Hours and hours had gone by without a clue as to what was wrong. Serena, tired from all the disarray, discovered what had happened, she lost her baby due to a miscarriage.
"Serena, my dear" Doctor Smith stated. Serena's heart was beating faster and faster. "I'm so sorry, but you have had a miscarriage." said Doctor Smith. Serena burst into tears.
Crying day after day, she finally decided to let it be. "I guess everything happens for a reason, right Nate?" She guessed. "We can try again, it wasn't too much of a loss because we still have our beautiful children." Nate replied. Losing her baby had happened for a reason. She didn't even know she was pregnant.
Three years ago today, we peered out the long, panelled window. To our perception, we saw awful rain, thunder and crazy lightning. We thought to ourselves, "Today seems like a bad day."
