Ed was familiar with the old cliche of a good kiss causing the earth to move under your feet. Even though he'd never kissed anyone before, it was easy enough to understand what the phrase meant. Of course, he wasn't dumb enough to think anything like that ever actually happened.

So he was rather surprised to find himself standing in the basement of the Central City Military Headquarters with Roy Mustang, looking up through a large hole in the ceiling at the colonel's office two floors above. Even though it had, Ed thought privately, been a very good kiss.

But it now appeared that the spinning sensation Ed had felt hadn't been caused entirely by Roy's proficiency in that area.

"What the hell did you do?"

"What?" Ed rounded. "How come you're blaming me?!"

Mustang arched one fine eyebrow. "Which of us is the one that can transmute without a circle?"

"It's not without a circle!" retorted Ed, who was normally proud of his talent, but couldn't pass up the opportunity to argue with the colonel. "When I touch my hands together, my body makes the circle!"

The blond's words echoed off the stone walls as he realized their implication.

"So," Roy asked very quietly, "what happens if you touch another alchemist?"

They looked at each other. Neither one was thinking about kissing.

"Aw, crap."
