AN: This is just a little something inspired by a 'What if' question my mom put forward. She has the best and weirdest ideas. :-)

Disclaimer: I own nothing from the Hobbit or Doctor Who, and I'm very sad about that.

Bilbo was relaxing with a cup of tea after lunch and a baking spree earlier that morning when he heard it.

A strange whirring noise, like metal grating against metal.

Leaving his comfy chair to investigate the noise he headed through his kitchen and to his back door as that was where the noise seemed to be loudest at.

Peeking out the door he didn't see anything- at first.

The whirring noise grew louder, and then a shape started to form in his garden- right between his cabbage patch and his strawberries.

It was blue, and box-shaped, and was becoming more solid by the second.

Fully opening his door Bilbo stepped out in time to see a door in the side on the blue box open and two tall figures emerge.

Giving a huff he strolled over to where the two where just standing around and talking.

"If you'd like to step inside I can make us all some tea, and pull out the iced cakes I made this morning." He gave a half glare half smirk at one of the pair.

"You know, Doctor, you always seem to show up just after I make those." He got a blinding smile in return.

"I do not. Though they are soooo good! Could you really blame me if I did?" Laughing along with his friend Bilbo led the way back into his smial. Turning to look over his shoulder he called back to the other man standing around, near trampling his plants.

"Are you coming, Gandalf?" Shaking himself out of his stupor Gandalf made a dash for Bag End, a hundred questions on the tip of his tongue, but only one made its way passed his lips.

"Bilbo Baggins! How on Middle Earth do you know the Doctor?!"
