Legion of Immortals

Part 1

The hallows were more than a myth and were more than mere tools. They were alive and they had their own will. Having said that, they still needed a master to control them, to use them. They were crafted by death himself, with the purpose of being used by the one chosen by Death to help him with his eternal duties.

When they were created, death whispered to them in his toneless voice that they would have to wait, wait for when their master will be born and claimed them. So they waited for their master for centuries, being passed to person to person awaiting when their master would finally claim them.

When Harriet Potter was born on July 30th, 1980, the hallows felt it. Their master had finally been brought to this earth, but they still needed to wait for when Harriet herself searched them out. But they still watched her, observed her as she lived with her parents and older brother. It was actually easier since James Potter was currently in possession of one of them.

When the vile man (too afraid of death that he mutilated his own soul so many times it disgusted them) appeared to kill their beloved master they came to her defence. Their master wielded the little bit of power they were allowed to give her at that moment with such practice ease, it looked as simple as breathing. The killing curse was deflected back towards the castor destroying his body, but not dead since the abomination's soul (or what was left of it) escaped. A small piece of the man's soul tried to attach itself to their master, but they destroyed it before it could. (The hallows would never allow their master be defiled by something so disgusting.)

The shockwave was powerful enough to destroy the roof of the nursery and flung her older brother and mother, that were unconscious on the floor, to the wall. Her brother landed on a piece of shattered glass that cut into his forehead, killing him.

They comforted their master as she cried, for she had sensed her brothers demise and she didn't like it. In that moment Death appeared before them to take the soul of their master's brother. Their master opened her emerald green eyes and stared at their creator, as if pleading him not to take her brother. Death (in a rare moment of pity and mercy) followed their master's command and gave her brother's soul back, pulling the glass out of his forehead and healing it enough that he would not bleed to death, but not enough for him to live on without a scar.

Their master smiled in gratitude towards their creator, and death (in another rare display of emotions) gave her a small smile as his cold eyes soften a little. As other wizards appeared, Death left swiftly without a word and their master closed her eyes and fell unconscious. Since their master was safe once more, the hallows left, unaware of what the future held for their beloved master.
