When we come here, everyone fantasizes that I'm there ideal partner, right?, Hajime thought to himself as he looked at Mikan. I wonder what type of partner Mikan prefers.
"Um…! Welcome back, d-darling!," she suddenly blurred.
"Darling?," he confusingly asked.
"O-Oh, do you not like that? Then, how about s-sweetie? Is that okay? Welcome home, sweetie! How was your d-day?"
Hold on a second. Why is calling me darling and sweetie? What's up with that? A few seconds later, it dawned on him. Wait a minute, so this is her ideal fantasy? Does this mean that we're married? Anyway, I should just follow along.
"Y-Yeah, I'm home. He pretended to yawn. "My day was pretty tiring, but it's better now since I'm with you now," he replied.
Mikan appeared to smile for a moment before she went back to having a concerned expression on her face. "W-Well, what would you like now that you're home, s-sweetie? Would you like dinner? A bath perhaps? Or maybe… you would like….. A-Ah! I-I'm s-sorry, Hajime! I-I messed up.
"Mikan, it's okay, everyone makes mistakes," Hajime calmly assured her.
"B-But I'm your w-wife!," she stated, her face turning red at the mention of the word. "A wife is suppose to make her husband happy. If I can't do that, then I don't deserve to be one!"
So, that's the problem. Poor girl.
He took a deep breath and relaxed. "Mikan," Hajime stated.
"Y-Yes?," the girl replied.
"Listen to me, I chose to be with you.You make me happy, especially knowing that someone as caring and kind as you is with me. "
"B-But I have messed a lot things up. I-I end up burning your food most of the time and I always end up tripping or slipping when I try cleaning."
Mikan looked like she was about to cry. The sight tug a few strings in his heart. Hajime walked up to Tsumiki and hugged her, surprising her.
"H-Huh? H-Hajime?!"
"Mikan, you've made me very happy. Even when you messed something up, I was never mad at you. Marriage isn't easy after all."
"B-But I-"
"If we're married, then shouldn't we both be happy, not just one of us," he interrupted. You've already made me happy, Mikan. Now, let me make you happy. I promise that I'll do my best to accomplish that goal."
Mikan looked up at him, his eyes telling her the truth. "Hajime," she began crying tears of joy. "T-Thank you."
The two of them remained in each other's embrace, not wanting this moment to end so soon. Hajime was not going to let her down, not now, not ever.
