I Loved Him

Hermione made her way through the crowded hallways of Hogwarts lined with debris. Filtch was sweeping dust out of the way of the survives of The Battle of Hogwarts.

As she entered through the doors of the Great Hall, she was met with cries and screams. She hurried over the see what all the fuss was about and found Mrs. Weasley protectively sobbing over a teenage body with ginger hair.

Her heart stopped.

Ron.

She couldn't look.

She ran.

She ran towards the Forbidden Forest but didn't get far as she heard someone yelling, "Hermione! Hermione wait!"

She knew who it was even before she turned around. He was practically her brother. She turned around and was met but Harry's thumb wiping away her tears. She hadn't even remembered crying. She couldn't hold back any longer though as she buried her face in the crook of his neck and broke down.

Harry didn't say anything. He just rubbed her back and made comforting attempts to help her calm down. It was a very brotherly gesture that she appreciated very much.

After she calmed down a bit, she looked at him.

He was in need of another haircut. Blood crusted his hairline and there was a nasty cut going from his cheek to his temple.

She didn't say anything she was think though.

All she could chock out before she buried her face back into the crook of his neck and cried again was, "I loved him."

Harry hugged her as he whispered back, "I know you did. He loved you too. He always has and he always will."
