My life wasted away, being used as an experiment for the humans. Why could they not leave me alone? All I see is sand, dirt and more sand, the wind was my protector when I was young, but now I wanted it to stop twisting and turning, it was getting sand in my eyes. I blinked several times, realizing someone or something was walking toward me though the wind, and the dark shape reminded me of the masked humans. But I was pretty sure that it was not a human, the spikes on its head and back told me it was a hedgehog. I sneered, what was that creature doing coming out into the sand storm that the wind had caused? I remained calm, despite the cuts along my back and sides. The pain had already numbed the pain and all I was waiting for was to bleed out, so I could finally leave this life. It seemed like fate wanted me to suffer much more, even though I had known nothing about the future.
I watched as the hedgehog made his way though the wind like it was nothing. Once he reached me though I could see the outer edge of his quills were covered with yellow, and along his arms it was the same shad of yellow, it seemed like it was slightly mixed with orange, but I was not going to fight him over his looks.
"My name is Karr, do you need help?"
"Does it look like I need help? No I want to die, okay!?"
The wind picked up, forcing the hedgehog away from me, it knew how I was feeling and would happily help me if it could. I closed my eyes and silently snarled at the hedgehog. He was a total fool and should never had helped or tried to help me.
"I dare say, your windy friend does put up a good fight. Would you like to get away from the humans forever? Where you are the one to kill them and see them suffer instead of you?"
"I don't… of course… what are you talking about? All I ever wanted was a home, and a place to be feed, not tortured to an end."
"I can freely give you this stuff, all you have to do is kill people. Or if you want me to, I could leave you here and call the humans telling you're here? What would it be?"
The hedgehog by the name of Karr crossed his arms; I watched judging his body language, seeing I he would really do what I dreaded now. I sighed and given up, but this was a chance to get revenge on the humans who hurt me.
"Fine, take me with you."
"You will not be disappointed; I am one of my word. But I have to say once, get rid of the wind, and if you can tell me what else you can do."
"The wind is only my caretaker, I can control fire and if I take one of my feathers off my body it can change into any weapon of my choosing. I was nearly killed in that base and I will be happy to repay you for your help."
"Of course you are, I will be sure you will not be hurt by any more humans. What is your name?"
"The names Kro, It's nice to know someone cares about who I am."
Karr bent down and picked up the broken bird, the wind suddenly stopping as Kro tried to shoo it away. It stayed where it was while Kro was tooken away from it; sorrow clung to the wind like something had died. It loved Kro and now to be pushed away from him was the worst thing he could ever do. You can't fight something that would not die, or even if it was only the wind, but little did Kro know it was going to be fighting it very soon.
Kro never looked back on his caretaker again, even got rid of any advances that the wind would apply, just to see if he would let it return to him. The wind was going to be a very bad enemy when forced to the edge and would continue to fight. It was the wind, and now it was going to fight Kro all the way.
