This is like, one of the few one shots I am making.. BUT, since Christmas is coming soon, I decided to make a last minute countdown of one-shots!
This, however, is a rather emotional one. I don't really know where I got the idea from. With GxG coming to an end, I need more stuff to write. GxG really kept me busy!
So please, read it and weep.
One More Chance. That was all he wanted. One more chance to tell her about how he was feeling. To hold her hand. To tell her how much he loved her. To hug her. To spend everyday with her. One more chance. Was that too much to ask for?
It had been three months since Oona's sudden death. But to Nonny, it felt like a year. A long, dreadful year.
Although, he could remember the day clearly. The day he got the message.
"Nonny," It was the sound of his Mother's voice, "May I come in?". "Sure, why not?" Nonny was just laying in his bed, reading a book as usual. It was just like any normal day in his house. Quiet, motionless. His mother and him were never the ones to have really close bonds like most kids and their parents did. They started to drift apart after Nonny's mother divorced his dad.
"We need to talk.'" Nonny's mom sat down on his bed, having a suspicious look on her face. She looked... sad. Nothing bad had happened to their family recently. Right?
"You know that girl Oona you always hang out with?" Nonny nodded in response. What was wrong with her? Had she gone into missionary? Was she out of the hospital? Did... something bad happen? All these raced through Nonny's head at once.
"Well last night," His mother looked and sounded as if she was too weak to go on, "Nonny, I'm sorry... Last night.. Oona... S-she... Died.". The words all struck him at once. As if he had just got shot in a drive by.
"She died?! They couldn't cure her?!" Nonny began to raise his voice. That was the love of his life. His best friend. The only person that really mattered to him lately. Now, she was gone?!
"I'm afraid not Nonny. She was in a really critical position. She was in too much pain. They tried, but nothing worked. But the best thing is, is that she is in a better place now." Nonny's mother tried to explain things to him softly. But it didn't work. He was pissed.
"How do you know if she is in a better place?! J-just... Get out!" Nonny shouted at the top of his lungs. It was actually his first time in a while that he yelled. Boy, did that blow off alot of steam.
Without any exiting statement, Ms. Pirruccello left. Leaving Nonny to release all those tears. Tears that were only reserved for Oona.
Everyone tired to cheer him up. They honestly did. Cards, letters, everything. But nothing worked. Didn't they understand that once you lost the one thing you loved, you can not just be happy in a matter of two seconds?!
It took time. Real time.
But all he really needed was one more chance. But now, they were all gone. Washed away like ocean tides. Now all he had were memories. Bittersweet memories. Memories that would make his heart ache even thinking about them.
"I'll have my chance again. Just you wait Oona.".
And, Scene! Really emotional. I cried writing this. Too emotional.
I hope you enjoyed this!
Bye-cha-ko!
