It was late when a knock sounded at Peter's door. He wasn't asleep, but was skeptical of who would be asking for him at this hour. He had been enjoying a poetry book, and was quite annoyed at being interrupted.

Peter rose from his lounging position on the bed, brushed off his pyjama bottoms, and shuffled over to the door. When he opened the door he was surprisedvery surprised- to find no other than Alice.

She was wearing an extremely oversized button down shirt and not much else. Peter flushed lightly at the length of her bare legs and feet.

"Peter?" she said, looking at him with large, sleep-filled eyes.

Peter snapped out of trance. "What is it, my dear?"

Alice looked down shyly. "I-I had a bad dream. Could I maybe stay with you tonight?" She looked at him pleadingly.

Peter chuckled softly and beckoned her in. Inside she eyed the spacious bed and glanced at him. He gestured to the left side and she blushed as she climbed inside. He walked over and tucked her in, pulling the covers up to her chin, and brushing a soft kiss on her forehead.

He went around and climbed in on the other side. Peter made sure to keep a safe distance away from Alice, so as not to make her uncomfortable.

Just as he began to close his eyes, Peter felt a shifting in the bed. A few seconds later, he felt two thin arms wrap around his middle as Alice crushed herself against his chest. His arms automatically went around her and he rested his chin on the crown of her head.

"Good night, Peter." she yawned.

The White Rabbit began stroking her hair. "Sweet dreams, my Alice."
