Who knows well the boy
Sitting in the back the class?
Always ducking his head
Always shying away
as if his touch would break the others
.
Who knows well the boy
playing games by himself?
Always being bullied
But ever so hopeful for friends
.
Who knows well the boy
who forced a laugh for his friends?
Always pretending that all was well
when in reality nothing was?
.
Who knows well the boy
hiding behind the law?
Forcing the others to detention
when all he wanted was the same fun they had
.
Who knows well the boy
covered in markings?
With a sinister history
of one who was troubled?
.
Who knows these boys
with both tragic and petty pasts?
With horror and sorrow
Will all this pass?
.
Perhaps they shall find
what they shall seek
with friendships and love
holding together when everything else is bleak
.
"Hope never dies.
The way clouds appear and disappear,
hope changes but never fades.
Sometimes, you just have to wait
for the next storm
before you can find it again."
That beautiful quote at the end is by Maza Dohta, although this poem-thing is written for the lovely Priya's 'How Many Ways' challenge in which I have to use that above quote in as many fandoms as I can, and I know I can do it because it's such a perfect and beautiful quote and fits into everything it seems.
I don't own Yu-Gi-Oh, alas.
I would like to dedicate this to Mein Schatz, if she's reading this. Ich liebe dich, Kaiba-chan.
