12/1/07: I wrote this after thinking of being Kurenai in an AnimeCon. I looked into her character and found that she and Asuma tied the know and he DIED! Life is so unfair! Anyways, enjoy!

Six years of not seeing him left him questioning

Six years of being alone with their son made her heart break

"Mommy, where's Daddy?"

She didn't see that coming

:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:-:

Their son looked exactly like him

Dark hair and slightly tan skin

--------------------

She sighed

"We'll visit him today.

Today's really important to us."

The sprite bounced up and down,

Filled with excitement that he'll meet his father

After all those firsts-

First smile, first laugh, first step-

That his father missed

-Ai-Ai-Ai-Ai-Ai-Ai-Ai-Ai-

The boy's mother wore her old clothing

A red- like her eyes- blouse with a ripped sleeve

Under a white strapped gown

That contrasted her jet-black hair

They still fit her

Since the last time she wore them

-Me-mo-ry-Me-mo-ry-

The two walked over Konoha

To the memorial stone

"Mommy, why are we here?"

"Because your daddy's here too."

-If-you're-here-with-me-

She pointed out an inscription

In Honor of Asuma Sarutobi

Who loved, was loved, and will always be loved

"Today is our eighth year anniversary," she sobbed

"He died before I had you."

-Together-a-broken-family-

Her-their- son held her hand as he bowed his head down in prayer

Daddy, I never got to meet you,

But I know that you would've been a great daddy.

I know you've loved Mommy until your name was put on this stone

And you still love us up there.

-Listen-to-us-please-

After a long and peaceful silence,

Kurenai and her son went home

She felt Asuma embrace her

And gave their son a ruffle on the dark hair before they left

-I-miss-you-

Asuma and Kurenai's son finally saw his father

Kinda far-fetched, but I had to make something in tribute to the truest couple in Naruto. Please review! If you point out some REASONABLE changes, I'll be glad to edit this!
