Severus's Apprentice
Jordan Cole stood outside the large castle looming in front of her and grimaced. It was likely to be cold inside as it was the middle of winter. Oh well, she thought and trudged up the stairs to the front doors. Entering quietly she smirked slightly. You could hear noise coming from the Great Hall and Jordan figured the school must be having dinner.
Jordan Cole was eighteen and had applied for an apprenticeship in potions. Luckily the man, a Professor Severus Snape, had accepted her and here she was and no one had come to meet her. Well, let's make a grand entrance, Jordan thought and then hurried to a bathroom to freshen up.
Looking in a mirror, she studied herself. She was not overly gorgeous but she did have an air of mystery about her. Probably the make up, she thought. Also while Jordan wasn't fat she certainly wasn't skinny either. She had on a black skirt and high black boots. Her shirt was black with gold lettering advertising her love of Lynyrd Skynyrd. Her make up was dark and her hair black brown with blond weaves in it. Smirking slightly, she knew she was about to make an impression whether good or bad Jordan didn't really care.
She left the bathroom and strode purposefully to the doors. Jordan grasped the handles and, drawing in a quick breath, threw the doors wide, catching everyone's attention. Scowling slightly at the ones who stared, Jordan stalked up the aisle and stopped in front of the headmaster.
"Ah, Miss Cole, you made it alright then. Attention students, this is Miss Jordan Cole. She is from the States and is Professor Snape's apprentice," Dumbledore announced and there was a shocked silence. Then whispers started and the Headmaster yelled for their attention once more. "She will be helping Professor Snape with his classes. You will give her respect like you do with your Professors. Now if you will take your seat, Miss Cole, I think we could continue with dinner." With that said he sat down and Jordan walked around the table and sat at the very end, next to Professor Snape.
"Good evening, sir," Jordan greeted as she loaded her plate with food.
"Miss Cole," Snape sneered at her.
Jordan frowned slightly and shrugged. Maybe it was a bad day for him. Although, she thought, by the looks he was receiving it looked like the students hated him. Smirking slightly, she began to eat her food while studying a book on advanced potions. Therefore she was startled when Professor Snape stood up and, giving her one more disparaging look, swept out of the Great Hall.
Jordan stood and sighed as she left the Great Hall. After getting directions to her room she set about the task of putting things away. When she finished, she changed into her pajamas and climbed into bed. Snorting, she thought Snape acted like a drama queen, with his billowing robes swirling around him. Smiling, Jordan extinguished the candles and fell into a peaceful sleep.
