I hope you like it, it's incredibly short and very fluffy. I don't know, I'm new, I don't own things.

It was only Monday and Lily was already tired. She was tired of Slughorn fawning over her, she was tired of being head girl, and she was tired of being called a mudblood.

Really, Lily thought it was rather pathetic that she had let a stupid comment by a slytherin get to her. A first year slytherin, no less. But that was what really tore into her. The fact that a child could have so much hate in their heart. Regardless of the cause, Lily had found a non-moving staircase to cry on.

Oh, this is just lovely. I'm going to miss charms because of a first year, I'm just the model head girl, aren't I? Lily tapped her foot impatiently, waiting for the tears to stop falling. In her opinion, crying was a very tedious process, one of which she did not have the patience to deal with.

"Lily?" She peeked through her hands as her boyfriend approached. James Potter squinted at her through his spectacles, as if his glasses weren't enough of an improvement for his vision. "Why aren't you in class?" She knew better than to question his motives, he rarely went to class.

"I- A first year-" She would never be able to say it out loud, it sounded pathetic.

He was finally close enough to notice the tears in her eyes and he quickly dropped onto the step beside her. "Lily..." He caught the new fallen tear. "Is it about what that idiotic first year said? Because I'm almost positive he's lost his marbles if he can't see-"

"What do you see in a mudblood like me?" Lily choked out. "You could have any girl at Hogwarts. If you were with a pureblood things would be so much easier for you."

"You're not a muggleborn Lily." She looked at him like he was crazy. "I mean...you are. You're mum and dad are muggles, but there's so much more to you than your blood status."

"But-"

"I would have to be mad to choose anyone over you. There are so many things to love about you." James grinned at her skeptical expression. "You're so shy about your feelings, I find it adorable that you only say 'I love you' in a whisper, it's like it's our secret. It amazes me how bloody kind you can be when everyone only steps all over you and calls you names even though you've done everything to prove that your blood doesn't define you."

Lily took a shaky breath. "You say all these grand things about me, but what about other people?"

"What do they matter?" James pressed his forehead against hers. "I love you, I think you're fantastic."

"Oh really?"

"I love the way I can find your hair in a crowd." He pressed his mouth to the top of her head. "I love the way your eyes shine like emeralds when you smile." He kissed her eyelids, causing chills to spread over her arms. "I love the way your cheeks turn red when I say that I love you." His lips were on both of her cheeks. "And I love the way you say things that aren't true about yourself." Then his mouth was on hers and he was running his hands through that red hair that he loved so much and those green eyes fluttered shut as she pulled him closer.

James pulled away from her with a grin and stood up.

"Where are you going?" Lily asked, her voice hoarse.

"Oh, Lily." He grinned. "Did you really put it past me to dock house points for inappropriate name calling?"

You can comment or favorite it if that's what you're into. I don't know what I'm talking about. But wow you're cute and that top, or lack of, makes you look at least 10x hotter (I've heard that people like compliments).
