Ordo was not happy.
But being cornered on a cliff with a mass of soldiers coming in on every side is never a good thing.
What did he expect, anyway, traveling with the Doctor?
"Don't worry!" the Doctor yelled. "We'll figure a way out of this!"
Ordo just glared.
Suddenly, the Doctor frowned. "No," he mumbled, "this isn't right. This can't be right."
Ordo found the Doctor's face to be three inches away from his, the piercing brown eyes staring at him. "Ordo," the Doctor said slowly. "Do you trust me?"
Ordo thought about it.
The Doctor did save his life . . . but . . . for all he knew it was just a ploy to get him to trust the Doctor, and (if so) he would probably throw him to the army any moment if it meant a stronger chance of survival.
"No."
"Brilliant!" the Doctor crowed, looking genuinely pleased. "I got a smart one!" He beamed and shoved Ordo off the cliff, yelling "TRUST MEEEE! I HAVE A PLAN!"
Ordo cursed himself as he shifted his weight so the shock of impact would be less on his body. He really should have seen that coming.
"You know," Ordo ground out, "you could have told me that it was all a holographic projection that would disappear once I tested it before you pushed me off the cliff."
"No harm came out of it!" the Doctor protested. "And there wasn't enough time!"
Ordo decided not to mention that the fall broke his ankle.
Instead, he just said quietly, "Never again. You pull something like that, you tell me first."
The Doctor nodded, his face slightly embarrassed.
Ordo stood up and immediately winced. It was only a quick blink, but the Doctor noticed.
He always did.
"You okay?"
"Give me your bow tie."
The Doctor wordlessly handed Ordo his favorite bow tie.
Ordo bound it around his ankle in silence. Then he spoke: "By the way, the answer's yes."
The Doctor looked at Ordo blankly. "Huh?"
"You asked me before whether I trusted you. The answer's yes."
The Doctor just grinned.
A/N: I have no idea why I wrote this. It makes absolutely no sense. XD
But it was fun. :D
Just so you know, the army was a projection. The cliff was not.
Why couldn't the Doctor jump off himself? Again, no idea. ;)
