This is a little thing for the REAL Ren and Ukari. Happy birthday, girls.

Haku isn't mine *insert sob* but Mizu and this scene are. So don't even thin about stealing her. Thank you, management. (Don't those signs just piss you off? I mean, have the decency to sign your name! Geez, people! … Sorry. Had to get that off my chest.)

Mizu was oddly quiet all day. Haku noticed, but decided not to comment, knowing Mizu would tell him in time. Over their late meal, Mizu brought up the date.

"October thirteenth. What's so special about it?" Haku questioned.

"I never told you my birthday."

Haku froze. "That's today?"

Mizu nodded. "I don't tell anyone my birthday, because it wasn't just mine. Me and Ren and Ukari… we'd have these huge parties for the three of us, because our family didn't want to give us separate ones, deciding instead to have one extravaganza. We'd be sixteen today. Now… it's just me turning sixteen."

Tears started to roll down her cheeks as she folded her hands over her swollen belly. "They would have loved this. Their baby sister, getting pregnant." She laughed, her voice thick with tears.

Haku pulled her to her feet, holding her to him. He stroked her hair, letting her cry herself out on his shoulder. He pressed a kiss to her forehead when she had calmed. "Come on."

Mizu followed trustingly, asking, "where are we going?"

"A place I found."

The sun was setting as they reached tall wrought-iron gates. Mizu's eyes filled with tears again. She pressed her hand to her lips. "Haku…" she threw her arms around his neck, kissing him.

Haku smiled softly, leading her through the gates and among the graves. He knew exactly where the graves of Ren and Ukari were. "Haku… you're amazing. I love you."

Haku sat next to her, smiling softly. "I love you too, Mizu."

Mizu leaned against Haku, watching the sun set between the grave markers of her sisters. She was whispering softly, telling them everything that had happened in the past year, even touching on her pregnancy. A soft wind blew past, and the breeze seemed to carry laughter. Mizu grinned. "I told you they'd love it," Mizu whispered.

Once the sun had completely set, Mizu stood. "Happy birthday, Ren, Ukari. I wish you could be here with me."

Haku drew her into his arms, kissing her gently. "Happy birthday, Mizu, my love."

"Thank you, Haku," Mizu whispered.

So! You likey? Happy b-day, Ren-chan, Ukari-chan!!! Sad, yes, but that's what I'm best at, no? you are supposed to be dead in the story, after all. Be grateful you're in the story at all. But anyways. Reviews, s'il vous plait! Je vous adore!
