Dreaming

Nate was walking back and forwards in his cabin. He couldn't stand still; he wanted to know, no, he needed to know. But he knew he couldn't know at that particular moment.

"Nate?" A timid voice asked later on that evening. Dinner had long since passed, and so, everyone was at the camp fire. Or so Nate had thought.

"Yeah?" He replied sitting up from where he was sprawled across his bed. He couldn't quite see who was at his door, in the darkness of the room. Bur he didn't have to, he knew who it was. He knew her. He knew Mitchie.

She slowly walked into his cabin, whilst he sat up properly and swung his legs so they were hanging off the bed, before he turned on the light. Turning back to look at her, he saw the unmistakeable streaks that tears had left.

"Are you okay?" He asked, truly concerned for his friend.

"No, I'm not ok. I'm seventeen years old; this is my second year at Camp rock. And I feel totally alone, like nobody knows me." She confessed, before letting out a hoarse sob.

"Now, we both know that's not true." Nate said as he wiped away a stray tear.

"Fine. What's my favourite colour?" She asked, looking at him.

"Blue, but most people think it is red." He answered without hesitation.

"Ok, what's my favourite quote?" She asked looking at him intently.

"Love is nothing, without someone to love," He answered after a moment's thought. She sighed before asking her dreaded question.

"Why did Shane break up with me?"

"He broke up with you because he didn't want to hurt you more than he already had." Nate answered honestly, all Shane had done was hurt, and he couldn't bear to watch anymore.

"How's Jason?" She asked, truly curious at not seeing him all day.

"He's fine; he's on a date with Caitlyn." He answered, chuckling at the thought. They were perfect for each other.

"Ok, one last question that I know you won't know the answer to. Who do I love?" Mitchie asked. And then there was silence. He didn't know.

'How could I not know?' He thought angrily.

"I...I don't know," Nate answered, running a hand through his hair in frustration.

"You," She said with a nervous smile.

"I'm sorry. What?" Nate replied confused, not sure what she meant by what she had said.

"I love you, Nate." She said more confidently. Nate smiled at her before leaning into kiss her. But their lips never met.

Nate was awoken with a start. He was wet...

Looking up from where his head was leant on a desk he saw Shane. Holding a bucket, that was now conveniently empty. Whilst standing there looking smug.

"Try not to fall asleep in my lessons, again." Shane said with a smile. "Dinners in five minutes. I would use the time to dry off, instead of dreaming about girls, a certain girl in particular." He finished whilst giving Nate a knowing look.

The two boys made their way to their cabin, one to get changed whilst the other one wanted a towel. But it took longer than planned, instead of the wanted five minutes, it took them fifteen minutes. But it's not like anyone would care if they were late. They looked at each other before entering the canteen. But once they had entered, they looked upon a beautiful, smiling face of Mitchie. But her biggest truest smile was for just one of them.

"She loves you, you know?"

A/N: I looked on 27 different love quote websites, and the quote I used wasn't on any of them. So I decided to write it in my book of quotes that is filled with quotes I've made up. And I thought it fitted in with my one shot.
