The Wolfman

by Aldura

Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs, one night strode out under the silver moon;

Strode through the Whomping Willow into a forsaken house in ruin.

"Where are you going and what do you wish?" the lonely Wolfman asked the three.

"We've come to take you into a forest so that you can run free.

Adventure waits while the moon can be seen," said Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs.

The Wolfman howled quite loud as they left the house out of site.

His barks and yowls called the three out into the deep, black night.

Now the leaves and grass swirled out from the path of hoof, foot and paw;

"Lead on, lead on all through the night," they sang 'till their voices were raw.

So all night long through the forest they chased, played and scampered along.

The Wolfman lead his pack in their sport 'till the first bright crack of dawn.

So much delight and joy seemed unnatural for a Wolfman like he.

All the calm of his rage was a gift to him from the three;

A gift that set the Wolfman free, from Wormtail, Padfoot and Prongs.

Now Wormtail and Prongs at last are asleep, and Padfoot is by his bed;

Silently watching the face that hid under the fur of the Wolfman's head.

The Wolfman too sleeps, at the moment too exhausted for more;

Yet still grateful is he for the gift that brought him from one to four.
