"Stein? Stein, where are you?" Medusa called sweetly. Where has he gone off to now? "Stein, come here!"
"Aheh heh heh," she heard his voice echo off the walls. Where was it coming from?
"Stein, are you hiding? You silly thing you! Why don't you come out?"
"Hee hee… You can't find me~ I bet you don't even know this place exists."
"Okay, very clever," she called, her voice starting to betray her agitation. "Why don't you show me the place, huh?" It took some effort, but her voice returned to its honey-sweet tone.
"Let's play a game," he called. She frowned. Was he actually coherent?
"I'd love to play with you later, but I'm busy right now. Come down and help me, won't you?"
"I spy with my little eye," he called, and she grimaced. Where WAS he? "Something grey."
"All the walls here are grey!" Now she was getting angry.
"Hee hee hee~!"
"I'm tired of this game, let's play a different one. Let's play tag. You're it."
"Let's play hide and seek."
"We're already playing that," she called, searching desperately for the source of his voice. She couldn't afford to let him out of her sight. Who knew what he would do? "I want to play tag." She added a slight pout to her voice now, hoping to sway him with charm.
"Tag? Tag…" She heard him cackle—it was closer now. With a small gasp, she heard something thud behind her. She whirled around, but it was too late—he dealt her a staggering blow with his soul wavelength.
"Tag. You're it."
